You Have A Case of Karma

The only thing the love triangle leaves you with....

You Have A Case of Karma

Sooo...my little sister texted me the other night for some "boy" advice. After spending her junior year of high school toying between the senior football cutie and the soccer star, which of course are deemed to be best friends, she'll learn her lesson (well maybe, if not I'll share some advice).

We all know the love triangle dynamic, girl chases the hot guy that will never treat her right, and the sweet guy best friend of her's chases after her. Girl is torn between 2 boys, but hey two is better than one right?! Not quite, but one is better than none! - Which is which the love triangle usually terminates to.... Anyways, she'll take advantage of the nice guy, let him flatter her for the sake of fueling her ego, but deny him time after time because well..he is just not cute enough, or ehhh he's too nice.

She'll balance her time between the two - movie nights with the hot boyfriend, only to text the nice guy after complaining about everything her boyfriend did wrong. ( You know because it makes the nice guy think he'll have a chance because he's different- mean mean!)

Well, I hate to preach but this tale is as old as time. When you stop chasing the wrong boy around just for the thrill, don't turn around my dear. The nice best friend finally learned - "you're just too good for him," and now he's gone. He is with the girl who actually appreciates him now, and well now who are you with? Just yourself and good old karma. Don't you see, while the games and sneakiness of the love triangle may seem funny, there's no winning. No one survives the love triangle.

So there you have it - if you're in a love triangle...get out. If you're debating between two boys...pick neither. If you really liked one of them, the other one would not even be in the picture.

If there's three people, one will always lose, and in reality everyone loses.

Friendship. It's defined as the state of being attached to another person by feelings of affection or personal regard, but what really is friendship? Is it that occasional hallway talk with that one person who always manages to cheer you up? Is it that relationship you have with someone where they can be gone for a long period of time, but when they come back, it's like they never left? Is it spending every waking hour with someone, and knowing every detail about their life? Is it the relationship that's filled with fighting, but filled with even more resolution? I've learned that it's all of these things, and every friendship is different. It's a beautifully dysfunctional mess that should always be cherished and never be taken for granted.
