About fifteen U.S. states have now either passed or are in the process of passing new abortion law(s) that prohibit women from being legally able to have an abortion after a doctor has detected a heartbeat in their womb. This past Tuesday, Georgia's newly elected Governor Republican Brain Kemp signed House Bill 481, the "Heartbeat Bill" which also prevents abortion after a heartbeat is detected. Some even are calling this bill one of the most restrictive abortion bills in America.
I do agree that every living being should have a fair shot at life. This bill honestly has sparked conversation not only in my own home but also around the nation. Thinking twice about who we lay down with might have to become a norm because it's looking like you may not have a choice later on...
Prior to this bill, Women in Georgia could legally get an abortion all the way up until their 20th week of pregnancy. Starting on January 1st, this new bill will begin to hinder women from being able to make their own decision as to whether they want to bring their child into the world or not.
Under the right circumstances, Women should always be allowed to do as they please with their own bodies, especially regarding their own children. Not just legally, but also psychologically forcing Women to keep a child that they do not feel is ready for the world (for whatever personal reason) should be unconstitutional! We should have enough faith in our Women to decide if the world that they are bringing their child into is the world they want their child to exist in. From financial issues to parental issues, to even personal issues like mental health, all these play a major factor in this child's life before it even leaves the womb. Railroading not only children but also Mothers and Fathers into realities that they know are not ideal may not be illegal technically, but it sure is inhumane.
