Halloween may be over but the scary films don't need to stop! The Netflix original, "The Haunting of Hill House" was released Oct. 12 with great ratings even before it was available to the public. Horror novelist Stephen King gave outstanding reviews to the 10-episode series, complimenting director, Mike Flanagan, personally. On top of King's approval, the show received 90% on Rotten Tomatoes, and with this combination you know it has to be good!

I finally found the time to sit down and watch the series. I watched one episode after the next, unable to detach my eyes from the screen. Before I knew it, it was 3 a.m., I was mind-blown with the finale and slightly frightened to turn the lights off to go to sleep.

I'm a big horror movie fan, especially of the supernatural kind, so this series was right up my alley. Rather than being simply scary, the sequence pulled at your heartstrings as well. As the story is based around the Crain family, we experience the children's lives from childhood through adulthood. We see their marriages, scandals, battles and in most detail, the love they have for each other.

The five siblings spent a small portion of their childhood in this haunted house and it haunts them forever. After the death of their sister who returns to the house, the question arises is the house haunted or is their family just crazy?

Their sister's death brought the four other children back together as well as their father, who they intensively question for details of the night they left the house; a story which he has kept a secret for the decade and a half they've been away from the house.

Fans have already begun to read into Flanagan's take on Hill House. Thoughts of the children each representing a stage of grief is the most common theory presented. Diving deeper into the hidden details of the Netflix original, make sure you pay attention to every dark corner or window in the background. You never know who you might see.

Based on the novel written by Shirley Jackson, this spooky tale has been around for decades. She claimed while writing her book that you must believe in ghosts to be able to write a story the way she did, same goes for reading it, or in this case watching it.

Whether you're into mysteries, horrors, love stories, or heartwarming tales, this series is a winner for everyone.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
