As much fun as summer is sometimes not doing anything gets kind of boring. It's even worse when you want to go do something, but feel like you have already seen and done everything possible in your city. I used to be completely obsessed with all of the various ghost shows that I could get my hands on. This summer I have decided that I am going to explore Ohio on my free weekends even though they may be few and far between. Instead of waiting until I get bored why not plan some day trips? I can fit them in around my work schedule not to mention the fact that they will be significantly cheaper than planning a longer trip. I've never visited any haunted places so I think that's where I'm going to start. Here are a few places that I have found:

1. Ohio State Reformatory

Mansfield, Ohio.

I want to start here first. I don't know a lot about the history behind it, but whenever you look up haunted places in Ohio the Ohio State Reformatory is one of the first places on the list. There have to be some interesting stories. I think that you are able to do tours through it as well.

2. Franklin Castle

Cleveland, Ohio

3. Squire's Castle

Willoughby Hills, Ohio

4. Mudhouse Mansion

Fairfield County, Ohio

5. Ridge's Asylum

Athens, Ohio

6. Lafayette Hotel

Marietta, Ohio,

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

For those long nights that turn into mornings when the struggle is real.

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.
