I can remember being in seventh grade gym class, being totally intimidated to change in front of 40 other girls. Especially having a chest as flat as a board. I longed for the day where I would finally be able to have something to fill out a padded, underwire bra of my own. How times have changed. Now, bras are the enemy, and here's why.
1. So "64 percent of women wear the wrong size bra"...including me.
I have been sized for bras so many times in different stores, and every time it’s a different measurement, and every time the bra feels too tight or too loose. I don't get it. Why does it go from D to DD to DDD and not just from D to E? Who created this system?
2. Outfits like these make normal bras impossible to wear.
And if you do wear a bra with these outfits...
3. You'll have to worry about the straps.
Straps that are too tight. Too loose straps that fall. Taboo visible straps. Tasteless “invisible” straps (you aren’t fooling anyone).
4. And don’t even get me started on strapless bras. Those are fantastic if you want to be doing this all night:
5. Also “strapless backless bras” or “sticky boobs”?
Also known as weird chicken cutlets that are supposed to stick to you and push your boobs up. What they actually do is eventually become slightly tacky blobs that barely even stick to you anymore.
6. One word: underwire.
I have been in too tight bras before, and when left on for extended amounts of time, have actually caused my stomach to hurt, or my ribs to be sore. You’re probably wondering, why I don't just get a bigger size? But realize…metal digging into your ribs all day? No thank you.
7. The infamous double boob syndrome.
8.Sweaty bras equals a no-go.
9. Sequin and lace bras underneath a regular T-shirt don't mix well.
10.White bras in flash photography.
Other things bras don't mix well with...
11. Bras and sore muscles.
12. Bras and freshly done tattoos (ouch).
13. Big boobs and bras that don't do their job.
14. Bras and sunburn.
15. Bras are even said to further weaken the muscles around your breasts, resulting them to become even saggier over time.
A French study done over 15 years confirms this, according to this article from Medical News Today.
16. You should feel as good as you do when you take your bra off at the end of a long day, all day long.
17. Embrace your inner Rachel Green.
