Most of us are tired of hearing about the recent 2016 Presidential Election. I know that I am.
Everywhere I turn there is another tweet, Facebook post, or debate about who's right and who's wrong. I think everyone is entitled to their opinion; when you take away people's opinion, you take away their basic first amendment right. However, everyone is too busy blaming either Clinton (for Trump supporters) or Trump (for Clinton supporters). We're missing the big picture here. We really should be blaming the media.
Whether or not you support Donald Trump or Hillary Clinton is your business. This isn't an article about who you should agree with. This is an article to explain why your vote, and your perception of the candidates, is actually your perception.
Where do you get your information? Where do you find out what's going on in the world? You turn on the news, right? Well, when you have a mainly liberal news channel like CNN; their news, discussions, and reports will lean more towards the democratic candidate. This channel will then bash, demean, and scrutinize the other republican candidate. On the other hand, you have FOX news, a more conservative new channel. This station will then support the republican view of the election and report and criticize the democratic candidate.
Either way you look at it, you're getting biased views of each candidate. You're seeing the bad things each one is doing being blown completely out of proportion. So much so, that you take that one bad thing and that's what comes to mind when you think of that candidate.
Examples:
Hillary's email scandal
Trump's crude statements about women
The media harps on what they think will convince viewers to see things their way. Showing the bad of a candidate, more than the good. This will effect your perception of the people running regardless of your views. We are all susceptible to what is put out there for us to see. So don't hate on either candidate. They might not be as bad as you think. Hate the media, for trying to change your views by not reporting facts, but twisting the truth.
