When was the last time I had a real meal? Can't we "do college" without any of the school work? Is it Friday yet? What am I even doing here? These are question college students ask themselves on a daily basis.

College is the time of our life, the most fun time and the most scary time all in one. This has been said at least a billion times, but college is a huge transition from high school. In high school, it was sometimes okay to wait until the last minute to do our work, but college is a different story. You had maybe one or two tests per week in high school. In college, you probably have experienced weeks where you have had 4 tests, 3 papers, and 2 presentations all in one week on top of being expected to keep up on daily homework assignments and daily readings. This is one thing we do miss about being in high school.

If you go away to school you know how much fun it can be. Never again in your life will you get to live with your peers and best friends, have a party to go to every weekend, and could roll out of bed every morning looking like a slob without anyone judging you. We create memories that will stay with us forever, and the stories we are able to tell are endless. We can laugh almost on command thinking about them.

College is definitely a whirlwind and time seems to go by so much faster. We go away to school bombarded with homework, trying to make friends, in a brand new place. We somehow ease our way into the lifestyle of a college student, but there is really no easing into anything at all. We are thrown into new things every day. This is scary but we love it. We feel stressed out beyond belief, but we know the weekend is coming and we can somehow push through.

We are also given so much opportunity here. Everything we need for success is right at our fingertips. We have access to so much help, something that I feel a lot of take for granted. We don't realize that soon we will be out in the real world. It is our choice to take it all in and stay focused. We can still have fun, but just know when to zone back in and get stuff done. We complain during the week, and thrive during the weekends.

We question ourselves, and have mental breakdowns. Tears, laughter, and wondering why time has gone. We love to hate college, and we hate to love it. We learn so much about ourselves in college and it is a few of the best years of our life. We feel confused, happy, excited and fearful all in the same week, but we wouldn't trade this experience for the world.

In honor of Mother’s Day, I have been thinking of all the things my mom does for my family and me. Although I couldn’t write nearly all of them, here are a few things that moms do for us.

They find that shirt that’s right in front of you, but just you can’t seem to find.

10 Reasons To Thank Your Best Friend

Take the time to thank that one friend in your life you will never let go of.

Thank You on wooden blocks

1. Thank you for being the one I can always count on to be honest.

A true friend will tell you if the shirt is ugly, or at least ask to borrow it and "accidentally" burn it.

2. Thank you for accepting me for who I am.

A best friend will love you regardless of the stale french fries you left on the floor of your car, or when you had lice in 8th grade and no one wanted to talk to you.

Do as I say, not as I do.

Your eyes widen in horror as you stare at your phone. Beads of sweat begin to saturate your palm as your fingers tremble in fear. The illuminated screen reads, "Missed Call: Mom."

Growing up with strict parents, you learn that a few things go unsaid. Manners are everything. Never talk back. Do as you're told without question. Most importantly, you develop a system and catch on to these quirks that strict parents have so that you can play their game and do what you want.

"Friends" maybe didn’t have everything right or realistic all the time, but they did have enough episodes to create countless reaction GIFs and enough awesomeness to create, well, the legacy they did. Something else that is timeless, a little rough, but memorable? Living away from the comforts of home. Whether you have an apartment, a dorm, your first house, or some sort of residence that is not the house you grew up in, I’m sure you can relate to most of these!
