I get it, okay. You hate Trump, you don't like Hillary, Gary Johnson's "laissez-faire stoner persona" doesn't make you comfortable and Jill Stein is crazy. Maybe you're fed up with this entire election entirely and have decided it's in your best interest to just not vote at all. Why bother? You say your vote doesn't matter anyway. Hillary has got this thing pretty much locked up. You don't believe in a protest vote. And the reasons go on and on.

This is a presidential election you're just okay with not being a part of. It's getting petty. But guess what, you still need to vote.

Elections go way past who is going to be president. The president may be the most visible person in the nation, but they are in no means the most important part of the democratic process. There are two other branches of government, and you have a role in voting for the people that represent them. There are issues that may be of importance to you that you will be seeing this fall. So you need to vote. You don't have to vote for the president, but you can and should vote. If you're concerned about gun control, health care, minimum wage, legalizing marijuana and a lot more, the measures may be coming to your ballot this fall.

You have a say in these things, but you have to bother to show up and vote to have a say. If the president doesn't matter to you, that's fine, but being a part of the democratic process should.

Come this November you will see more on the ballot than just Hillary and Trump.

Unsure of where to start? First things first, register to vote. Deadlines are approaching but it's not too late. You can find out how to register to vote here. If you're unsure if you're registered to vote, you can find all of the information, including your polling place here. If you need to make corrections on your voter registration card, be sure to find out how to change your name, address, etc. soon. Information can be found easily online or by calling your voters office. If you need to vote absentee and have no idea how, check out this website. They will send you the right form to fill out directly to your email.

But what about the issues you say? You can find a list of all the measures coming to your state ballots here. On this website, you can even enter your address and generate a sample ballot for this November. Guess what? The presidential candidates are not the only people on the ballot! Not even close.

So long story short, you need to vote.

11 Things Summer Nannies Can Relate To

There are plenty of obstacles that come when taking care of kids, but it's a very rewarding experience.

As a college student, being a nanny over the summer is both enjoyable and challenging. Underneath the seemingly perfect trips to the pool or countless hours spent playing Monopoly are the obstacles that only nannies will understand. Trading in your valuable summer vacation in return for three months spent with a few children less than half your age may seem unappealing, but so many moments make it rewarding. For my fellow summer nannies out there, I know you can relate.

There are a lot of really easy, common names in the U.S. and while many of those simple names have different spellings, most of the time, pronunciation is not an issue that those people need to worry about. However, others are not as fortunate and often times give up on corrections after a while. We usually give an A+ for effort. So, as you could probably imagine, there are a few struggles with having a name that isn’t technically English. Here are just a few…

Daydreaming

day·dream (ˈdāˌdrēm/): a series of pleasant thoughts that distract one's attention from the present.

Daydreams, the savior of our life in class. Every type of student in the classroom does it at least once, but most cases it is an everyday event, especially in that boring class -- you know the one. But what are we thinking while we are daydreaming?

Puerto Ricans. They are very proud people and whether they were born on the island or born in the United States by Puerto Rican parent(s). It gets even better when they meet another fellow Puerto Rican or Latino in general. You’ll know quickly if they are Puerto Rican whether the flag is printed somewhere on their person or whether they tell you or whether the famous phrase “wepa!” is said.

If it hurts now, it'll hurt again. Not because you're gullible or naive, only because you fall fast, hard, and you do it every time.

We fall each and every time with the complete and utter confidence that someone will be there to catch us. Now that person we SWORE we were never going to fall for has our hearts, and every time we see them our palms start sweating. The butterflies in our stomach start to soar and our hearts are entirely too close to bursting out of our chests.
