I cannot STAND syllabus week. I sound crazy, but it's true! Most students relish the easy first week of classes where teachers hand out the syllabus and explain what each class with entail and assign minimal if any homework. I am not one of those students.
I am someone who likes to constantly be busy. I also like to learn. Call me a nerd, but I'd rather my first day of classes be filled with lectures and engaging activities rather than boring ice breakers where I pretend to try to remember my classmates names. My biggest annoyance about syllabus week is that every single teacher seems to be convinced that their students have never seen a syllabus before. Why do my teachers have to read the syllabus word for word and pause every two minutes to ask if there are any questions so far? More importantly, why does it take 50-80 minutes to read a double sided piece of paper? It is absolute torture! We all know how to read a syllabus! We all know how to write an email to our teachers to ask questions about the syllabus if needed. If I hear about the attendance policy one more time, my head is going to explode!
