After being sentenced to 23 years in jail for rape and criminal sexual act charges in late February, disgraced Hollywood bigwig Harvey Weinstein has just tested positive for coronavirus (COVID-19).

He was placed into isolation at Wende Correctional Facility after test results came back. The spread of coronavirus has created an atmosphere of isolation and social seclusion, canceled many major events, and taken many lives globally, leaving little good news in its wake.
This news proves that even someone as once wildly successful as Weinstein, who appointed himself a man who could get away with anything — including rape and extortion — is just like all the rest of us: human.
It's sobering news, to say the least. There isn't much pride in wishing a major disease on another person, but it at last strips someone who was probably one of the most powerful people in American society of their last remaining semblance of armor.
COVID-19 is giving us some of its only decent news by proving that Weinstein is just as susceptible to that which all the rest of us are. It shows us that what Weinstein portrayed to the people he abused, raped, and took advantage of — that he was untouchable — was simply a facade.
