The downfalls of HUDS
I know HUDS tries their best (see: tomato basil ravioli soup), but it can get hard sometimes. It's hard to mask your disappointment when you walk into the D-hall to find a menu of pure seafood and/or tofu, and what the hell is taco salad? Also, is anyone ever going to explain the disappearance of French fries in Annenberg?
Only having $65 of BoardPlus
BoardPlus is an incredible thing. You can stop by the Greenhouse Cafe in the Science Center for pizza and burrito bowls on your way to class, or by the Lamont Cafe for a cup of coffee pre-all-nighter and not feel like you're spending a dime when you hand over your ID...until you run out of credit the second week of the semester.
Weather
I just refreshed my weather.com app to find out that lows this week are going to be in the 20s. I also just shed a couple of tears. The tough Bostonian weather is a small price to pay for a Harvard education, but it's painful to have spent a quarter of my life's savings/worth on winter clothing.
The popularity of Lamont
As I overheard someone say once, Lamont is just an "over-glorified public library." Compared to the glorious, glamorous, and insanely beautiful Widener (which, by the way, is literally a 30-second walk from Lamont), I don't understand why undergrad students never take advantage of the opportunity to study there. I totally would, but then I would have to deal with the FOMO about procrastinating in Lamont with 97 percent of the freshman class.
Dealing with a perpetual fear of being Quaded
Sure, everyone who actually ends up in the Quad is constantly raving about how it's not THAT bad, I have a feeling that President Drew Faust may be paying them to defend it.
