Harry Styles’ New Album Will Give 1D-ers Life

If this album has taught me anything it’s that Harry really likes to go after women who are in other relationships.

After its long-awaited release, Harry Styles' self-titled solo album is out. It came out on Friday, May 12th and fans were more than ready to hear it, myself included. Harry's voice was always one of my favorite of One Direction, so I couldn't wait for a whole album of just him. Overall, I enjoyed his music a lot. His personal style is a lot different from One Direction's style and is more aligned with my own preferences of music. Below, I have broken down each song and given brief reviews of each song.

1. Sign of the Times

This political rock ballad gives a commentary on today’s society. It was released as a single a few weeks prior the album’s release and people have been heralding as reminiscent of David Bowie’s style of music.

2. Sweet Creature

What a sweet love ballad. The only instrument playing is an acoustic guitar being plucked in the background. I’m praying it’s Harry proving his skills on the guitar now that he knows how to play. This song is honest and simple and makes me feel emo.

3. Carolina

Okay, hit me with the bass Harry. This song is a little sexy and a lot funky. I want to be the girl in this song because apparently, she has Harry hook-line-and-sinker.

4. Meet Me in the Hallway

Out of all the songs on this album, this is the one you’d hear on an indie film soundtrack. It’d be playing softly in the background while the two main characters mack on each other for the first time.

5. Two Ghosts

This is sort of repetitive but the guitar solos peppered throughout to make up for the lyrics. However, “Two Ghosts” is definitely going to bring the mood down because this song is a little bit of a bummer.

6. Kiwi

Very ragey and angsty thanks to the heavy use of guitar and drums. I’m unsure as to where Kiwi comes from given context of the song, but I can still head bang to this when I’m feeling wronged by someone. To quote the song itself, “I’m kind of into it.”

7. Ever Since New York

This song is soooo obviously about his New York love Taylor Swift. I’m kidding. I actually have no idea who this song is about, nor do I really care. It is a bit boring though. I’m not going to lie.

8. Only Angel

Despite the title, the girl in this song is definitely not an angel. Harry is definitely breaking apart from his innocent boyband past in this song. He likes his girls to have questionable morals and be a little wild in the sack. Bye bye to the days where a girl flipping her hair made him overwhelmed.

9. Woman

By far his sexiest song yet. His voice, the piano, the la-la-la’s in the background. I’m so far up this song’s a** and I can’t see a way out.

10. From the Dining Table

This song is like a sad verson “Sweet Creature.” It’s only Harry crooning along to a single guitar. Once again we get a taste of Harry’s grown up lyrics and insight into the heartbreak he’s felt over the years.

If this album has taught me anything it’s that Harry really likes to go after women who are in other relationships. Harry, baby, listen to me. You don’t need a girl who won’t love you like you should be loved. I’m here for you. Come and get me.

11 Things Summer Nannies Can Relate To

There are plenty of obstacles that come when taking care of kids, but it's a very rewarding experience.

As a college student, being a nanny over the summer is both enjoyable and challenging. Underneath the seemingly perfect trips to the pool or countless hours spent playing Monopoly are the obstacles that only nannies will understand. Trading in your valuable summer vacation in return for three months spent with a few children less than half your age may seem unappealing, but so many moments make it rewarding. For my fellow summer nannies out there, I know you can relate.

There are a lot of really easy, common names in the U.S. and while many of those simple names have different spellings, most of the time, pronunciation is not an issue that those people need to worry about. However, others are not as fortunate and often times give up on corrections after a while. We usually give an A+ for effort. So, as you could probably imagine, there are a few struggles with having a name that isn’t technically English. Here are just a few…

Daydreaming

day·dream (ˈdāˌdrēm/): a series of pleasant thoughts that distract one's attention from the present.

Daydreams, the savior of our life in class. Every type of student in the classroom does it at least once, but most cases it is an everyday event, especially in that boring class -- you know the one. But what are we thinking while we are daydreaming?

It gets even better when they meet another fellow Puerto Rican or Latino in general. You’ll know quickly if they are Puerto Rican whether the flag is printed somewhere on their person or whether they tell you or whether the famous phrase “wepa!” is said.

If it hurts now, it'll hurt again. Not because you're gullible or naive, only because you fall fast, hard, and you do it every time.

We fall each and every time with the complete and utter confidence that someone will be there to catch us. Now that person we SWORE we were never going to fall for has our hearts, and every time we see them our palms start sweating. The butterflies in our stomach start to soar and our hearts are entirely too close to bursting out of our chests.
