What Happens When You Wait 16 Hours To See Harry Styles Live

You call it crazy, I call it dedication.

I saw Harry Edward Styles!

That is all that I can say because I am still not over the fact that it has happened. After Harry announced his tour dates, The Today Show announced that Styles would be kick starting their Citi Concert Series. So as any fan I went on their website and saw that they were giving out fan passes; which if you got a fan pass you would be able to be in front of general admission. I entered and put a ton of my emails and prayed.

So I went on with my business and probably most likely I forgot I entered because it is a one in a million chance to win. But on a Thursday evening I received a call from my mom that she received an email from the Today Show of winning Fan Passes to see Harry. I was on the brick of tears. Never in all of my life I expect to win this. Especially to see Harry. I had told all my friends and everyone I knew. Even though most aren't fans. But that's o.k because it just means less people I have to share loving Harry.

When May 8th came I had packed everything in advance like my pillow pet, blanket, my charger, and money. I was prepared for my journey. I arrived in Manhattan around 1:30 and saw a good number of dedicated fans lined up. There was already 2 barricade of girls and my friends were siting in the 1st because they arrived at 9 am. So I sat with them and chat. We caught up because I haven't seen them since high school ended. I then met my plus one for the Fan Pass. She and her friend came from upstate New York about an hour from Manhattan. We had a lot in common. Both of us also are part of the National Art Honor Society and we admire Niall. It was honestly the perfect match.

In the Fan Pass line though there was some drama! Though in life there is always drama. You can choose to be apart of it or not. Also people passing by asked us why are we were siting here and who are we waiting for. Other commented by calling us, "hobos"

Later, I started to write on Twitter updates on what was happening to inform people about how long the lines were and to bring warm clothing to stay warm.

As time passed and we talked more I met with other fans from the group chat I made and it was so fun to meet them. It is so nice to go or meet up with people when it comes to an event. It is no fun going alone!

Around 1 am I was totally drained. I was worried I would not be able to sleep because it was so cold and there was so much noise. But I did fall asleep and woke up around 3:30 am. As the time got closer to 5:30 you could feel the excitement.

The Fan Pass line received their passes and we headed to the stage! When Harry appeared the crowed went wild. Harry was wearing a dark cabbie cap and a tan sweater for his sound check. For the actual live performance he wore a pink suite with a black shirt underneath. He sang Ever Since New York, Sign of the Times, Carolina, and surprised us with Stockholm Syndrome (which is a One Direction song from their album FOUR).

Even though I waited 16 hours for this short period of time to see Harry perform. This day and experience I will never forget, ever!

These two photos are my absolute favorite as he's looking right into my camera.

April Ludgate

Everyone who is in college right now, or has ever been, knows the struggle of pulling in the strings at the last second. It seems impossible, and you have to do a LOT of things in order to assure your future for the next semester.

April Ludgate, historically, is a very annoyed person, and she doesn't hide it. Of all the times that I binged and re-binged "Parks and Rec," her attitude relates more and more to me.

The world is not always sunshine and rainbows, and you do not have to be, either.

Ask friends of mine to name a quality about me, and one a lot them will point out the fact that I am almost always smiling. I like to laugh and smile -- not to quote Buddy the Elf in April, but smiling is my favorite! It is probably my favorite go-to expression. However, what a lot of people do not see is that I have my down days. I have days when smiling and laughing is a real struggle, or when I have so much on my plate that going out of my way to behappy takes more effort than I have stored in me. Be it a symptom of college and growing up or a facet of life, I cannot always be content.
