It's no secret, whatsoever, that I love Harry Edward Styles more than anything else in this world. I mean, I listened to his album on repeat for four whole days so that I could write a review article on it. The man is a walking ray of absolute sunshine and deserves the world and nothing less.
Which would obviously mean he deserves a Grammy, right? Or at least a nomination, right? Right? RIGHT?!?
Well, he does DESERVE a Grammy, but alas, as the nominations were listed and posted all over Twitter, the One Direction boys, and one in particular, were subbed again.
Even though Harry has the record for the fastest-selling debut album by a British solo male artist on the Billboard Charts.
Even though he sold a record 223,000 copies of his self-titled debut album in its first week. The record was previously held by Sam Smith's In the Lonely Hour with 166,000 copies sold. Bruno Mars' 24k Magic sold 226,000 and was nominated.
Even though his album went straight to No. 1. It stayed in the Top 10 for seven weeks.
Even though he's only the second male artist from the U.K. to debut at No. 1.
Even though he holds the record for fan-to-ticket signups on Ticketmaster's Verified Fan Sale. For his 29-date tour, there were seven fans registered in advance for every one available ticket.
Even though his whole tour was sold out in six, yes you heard me, six seconds. That's the length of a vine, my friends.
Even though he can literally wear anything and rock it. Okay, maybe that one doesn't make him eligible for a Grammy, but it's very important nonetheless.
Don't get me wrong, everyone who was nominated wholeheartedly deserves it. There is not a single nominee that doesn't deserve the success and recognition they have. I mean, Kesha's comeback story brings a tear to my eye.
Look at all the beautiful diversity throughout the nominees. For the first time since 1999, there isn't a white male to be found in the Album of the Year category.
I can't complain about anyone else because they all deserve it. But, so does Mr. Styles, and if you think otherwise, you're wrong.
