Now that it's November, we can focus on Thanksgiving. Even though I love Christmas, and it's one of my favorite holidays, it's Thanksgiving's time to shine. Christmas has all of December to shine. So, here is a 'Harry Potter' Guide to Thanksgiving.

1. "I am what I am an' I'm not ashamed" - Hagrid

Remember this going into Thanksgiving. Know your worth. Be who you are.

2. "Things we lose have a way of coming back to us in the end, if not always in the way we expect." - Luna Lovegood

Losing love ones is never easy especially during the holidays. Our loves ones that are gone during the holidays, will always be there for us.

3. "I am not worried, Harry... I am with you." -Albus Dumbledore

You will always have that one family member that is there for you no matter one, and you got their back.

4. "Always." Severus Snape

This might be the shortest quote from the franchise, but it is one of the best quotes to be honest.

This is also the correct answer when asked for more food and dessert. Save room for dessert.

5. "It matters not what someone is born, but what they grow to be." - Albus Dumbledore

And right now, I am a college student that will gladly take the leftovers.

6. "Just because you have the emotional range of a teaspoon doesn't mean we all have." -  Hermione Granger

We all have a family member that we want to just go off on.

7. "Until the very end." -James Potter

I will eat, watch television, sleep, and repeat until the end.

8. "Anything's possible if you've got enough nerve." -Ginny Weasley

Stuff your face, win the football game, hang out with your family, watch/play football, and so on. Just remember, on Thanksgiving, anything is possible if you just believe.

Thanksgiving is when family and friends came come together and have fun. Remember to not talk about topics at the dinner table that will get the whole family heated, or some family members heated.

Have fun this Thanksgiving whether it's with just you, with your family, or with your friends. It's a time to remind yourself of the things that you have in your life that are good.

The Great Christmas Movie Debate

"A Christmas Story" is the star on top of the tree.

One staple of the Christmas season is sitting around the television watching a Christmas movie with family and friends. But of the seemingly hundreds of movies, which one is the star on the tree? Some share stories of Santa to children ("Santa Claus Is Coming to Town"), others want to spread the Christmas joy to adults ("It's a Wonderful Life"), and a select few are made to get laughs ("Elf"). All good movies, but merely ornaments on the Christmas tree of the best movies. What tops the tree is a movie that bridges the gap between these three movies, and makes it a great watch for anyone who chooses to watch it. Enter the timeless Christmas classic, "A Christmas Story." Created in 1983, this movie holds the tradition of capturing both young and old eyes for 24 straight hours on its Christmas Day marathon. It gets the most coverage out of all holiday movies, but the sheer amount of times it's on television does not make it the greatest. Why is it,
then? A Christmas Story does not try to tell the tale of a Christmas miracle or use Christmas magic to move the story. What it does do though is tell the real story of Christmas. It is relatable and brings out the unmatched excitement of children on Christmas in everyone who watches. Every one becomes a child again when they watch "A Christmas Story."

It’s here; that time of year when college students turn into preschoolers again. We cry for our mothers, eat everything in sight, and whine when we don’t get our way. It’s finals, the dreaded time of the semester when we all realize we should have been paying attention in class instead of literally doing anything else but that. Everyone has to take them, and yes, unfortunately, they are inevitable. But just because they are here and inevitable does not mean they’re peaches and cream and full of rainbows.
