Throughout life we learn numerous lessons from our family and peers. The most important lesson one could ever learn is how to work. Working is not clocking in at 9 am and out at 5pm. Working is not watching the clock and counting down the hours to freedom. Working is working so hard it becomes midnight and the only way you realize it is because you can no longer see what you are doing because it is now too dark. Working is getting another job because you have an ideal way of life that you want, but cannot afford with one job. Working is working so hard you out work your boss. Working is finding something to do in the mist of a slow hour. Working is not worrying about what time you get home, but that you get home with enough time to have dinner with your family and say a your prayers at night. Working is coming home to sit down and enjoy that television you bought with those snacks you also bought. Working is enjoying the sweet taste of victory nachos you buy and make after getting that A you deserved for that darn paper you worked on throughout the day.
Here's to the hardworking American citizen the one who would rather pay their bills than buy the newest trend. Here's to the citizen who pays taxes, so that the less fortunate can eat at night. Here's to the ones who are used for every dime you earn. Here's to the ones who no longer have time to waste. Thank you for the time you don't waste and for have a work ethic drilled into you. Most importantly thank your family because without them you wouldn't have these moral and ethics. This is a touchy subject for many millennials, but for those of you who are in apart of this sadly small group of hardworking millennials I just want you to know we are not alone and we will be the successful ones!
