It seems that in college you either have nothing going on for classes or you have everything. All at once. In one week or a few days. In every class. All the projects. All the exams. It all comes crashing in. These next few weeks seem to be that way for so many people. Not only are we all dealing with classes, some of which we may love and some of which we may hate, but we are also dealing with extracurriculars, a social life, family matters, and whatever else may be going on in our lives. No matter what is going on, it may seem like everything is crashing down, all at once.
But you know what? It is okay for everything to seem like it is crashing down. It is okay to feel overwhelmed at times. It is okay for you to feel like you need to be in 10 different places when all you really want to do is be in bed, watching Netflix, and sleeping the day away. I get it. But some of the biggest lessons I have learned in life have been learned in those times that I have felt completely overwhelmed and felt like everything was falling down.
In those times of completely overwhelming feelings, we find the people who truly love us and who fully want to support us. In those times of feeling like everything is falling down on us, we see who will be there to support us in our weakest, most emotional times.
When we are feeling completely lost in everything we have to do, we learn that these feelings do not indeed last forever, even though it may seem this way. When the hard times feel like they are getting harder, we soon realize that they begin to get better. Even if it isn't everything, something gets better. And you know what? This feeling that we get when something, anything, starts to get better is exactly the feeling we needed to get through the rest of whatever is going on.
We learn a lot in those times that we are completely overwhelmed. We learn strength, patience, a sense of passion, and so much more. It is the times that make us stronger and our strength that makes the times easier.
