Happy or Just Comfortable?

Don't look for happiness in the same place you lost it.

Happy or Just Comfortable?

In the waves of change, we find our true direction. Don't confuse complacency with happiness. Life is all about change, you can either accept it or run away from it. I'll let you in on a secret, accepting it is the only proper way to deal with change. In between times are one of the most trying times you can experience. Being between adolescence and adulthood, being between jobs, being between partners, between anything can cause anxiety and tension. But I'm here to say that being in between, being in a state of change, or experiencing change isn't bad. In fact, it can be very very good.

You're allowed to change, you're allowed to not know, you're allowed to experiment. Embrace that inner tension that change creates. Through that tension, you're encouraged to create something new or different. I've always found that when I'm in periods of change I embrace all facets of possible change. I'll mix up my wardrobe, cut my hair, change my makeup, everything. It lets me feel fresh and new to enter into the next phase of my life. Every time something makes you change, you become a new and better you.

Change is what makes life exciting, without change there is no need to adapt or better yourself or your community. Change doesn't have to be massive, it can be a daily change. Small things that can make you a better person. Making sure you recycle, eating a salad instead of a double cheeseburger, taking the stairs instead of the elevator, or drinking that extra cup of water. Being able to understand that change isn't bad, but can bring a miraculous transformation to your life can change your world view. You are always one choice, one change away from creating a totally different life.

7 Ways to Make Your Language More Transgender and Nonbinary Inclusive

With more people becoming aware of transgender and non-binary people, there have been a lot of questions circulating online and elsewhere about how to be more inclusive. Language is very important in making a space safer for trans and non-binary individuals. With language, there is an established and built-in measure of whether a place could be safe or unsafe. If the wrong language is used, the place is unsafe and shows a lack of education on trans and non-binary issues. With the right language and education, there can be more safe spaces for trans and non-binary people to exist without feeling the need to hide their identities or feel threatened for merely existing.

singing
Cambio

Singing is something I do all day, every day. It doesn't matter where I am or who's around. If I feel like singing, I'm going to. It's probably annoying sometimes, but I don't care -- I love to sing! If I'm not singing, I'm probably humming, sometimes without even realizing it. So as someone who loves to sing, these are some of the feelings and thoughts I have probably almost every day.
