Happy New Year!

Goodbye 2016. Hello 2017.

Happy New Year!
Birdstone

2016 was a year filled with all kinds of emotions. It went from happiness, to sadness, and then back to happiness again. A lot of people had come and gone in my life but there were a few people that stayed with me. Those people are my family and my best friends.

No matter how many years has passed by, I can always count of these people to be by my side and support me in everything and in anything I do. Many people are ending the new years with this "new year and new me" saying but I'm not going to do that. Instead, I'm going into 2017 like it was just any other year.

Life isn't always going to be filled with butterflies and rainbows. There's going to be some ups and down. I really dislike how some people think they are not going to face any hardships in the next year. I am sorry but the truth is, EVERYONE is going to experience difficulties in life. That's just the way life works. But with that being said, we can overcome them! Even when life brings us down, we can always pick ourselves back up!

If you have family and friends like mine, you won't go into 2017 alone! You'll have those who love you stick by your side and support you in whatever you do.

None of this "new year and new me" crap. Just go about living your life! Face your fears, make mistakes, learn from them, etc. You are you and no one is going to change that!

Happy New Year from a small girl with a big passion for writing!

All the love,

Victoria

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.
