As fun as the Halloween festivities have been, it is now winding down to an end. Gone are the fake spider webs, bags of candy stocked in the pantry, the endless “What are you gonna be for Halloween?”’ and let us not forget those awesome, classic, spooky movies.
At approximately 12:01 AM on November 1, all the Christmas-lovers of the world switch from pumpkin spice lattes and snuggling up to It’s The Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown to dragging out the Christmas decor, wondering where the Christmas music is and scrolling through the channels to see if any network is feelin’ the spirit as much as they are yet. Time to start planning your days accordingly:
Yes, I understand that it is only the beginning of November.
Don’t worry, I haven’t forgotten about how awesome Thanksgiving is. But there are just a few guilty pleasures that can’t be ignored when we are nearing so close to the most wonderful time of the year!
I promise, I will not get sick of Christmas music by the time it actually is Christmas.
Nothing makes this girl happier than blasting the Christmas classics on my way to class in the morning. And let’s be real, you can’t even say you don’t go a little crazy on the inside for All I Want For Christmas Is You.
Those sugar cookies, man, those sugar cookies.
No words are needed for this one.
Watching those old Christmas movies bring you back.
Being a little kid during Christmas is the absolute best. The fact that Santa was coming made you jump for joy! You constantly wished for a white Christmas (and maybe you still do!), and you couldn’t start making your Christmas lists early enough. Watching movies like Frosty the Snowman, Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer and Home Alone made you so excited for the day to come. We may be grown up now, but these movies still give us the same warm feeling we had when we were kids! Speaking of warm...
UGLY SWEATERS!
When you were a kid and received an ugly sweater for Christmas, that thing went straight in a drawer and didn’t come out until December 25th of next year. Thank goodness you saved all of them though; you now have different attire for all of those ugly sweater Christmas parties.
Lastly, for those who celebrate Christmas, please don't forget why we celebrate.
He is the reason for the season!
We celebrate Christmas because it is the birthday of our Savior of the world. Please keep the “Christ” in Christmas. There is a reason why so much celebrating goes on; it can be easy to get caught up in all of it but just keep Jesus on your mind during all the preparation and celebration. This is the day the most loving, caring and perfect person that will ever walk this earth was born! He loves us all the time and every day. So for someone who deserves to be celebrated EVERY day, it is certainly never too early to start celebrating this day!So go get that peppermint mocha, listen to that Christmas music and start looking for your trees, my fellow Christmas lovers. Because contrary to popular belief, it is so not too early for a little Christmas spirit!
