Happy Halloween Month

I Tried Pumpkin Stuff So You Don't Have To

If you haven't noticed yet, October is here, which means it is now Halloween month. Not only do all the spooky scary decorations come forth, but all the candy and junk food you could ever want is here. Even normal food gets into the spirit as LITERALLY EVERYTHING IS MADE WITH PUMPKIN.

We got pumpkin cereal, pumpkin pancakes, pumpkin beer, pumpkin candy corn, and if it isn't pumpkin flavored, it's at least pumpkin shaped (I'm looking at you Reese's).

I've compiled an extensive list of all the pumpkin stuff I've seen and tried and decided whether or not it was worth it for you to try as well. You're welcome.

1. Blue Moon Pumpkin Beer:

I was skeptical at first about pumpkin beer, but it was actually quite nice. It had all the gross flavor of a normal beer but slightly masked by the great pumpkin pie spices. 3/5 would recommend.

2. Trader Joe's Pumpkin O's:

A twist on their normal Cheerio knockoffs, the Pumpkin O's bring a holiday twist to the normal, dry cereal. One would think, "Hey, maybe it's a bit much to start my day with the actual taste of pumpkin pie", but who cares. 4/5.

3. The Classic PSL(Pumpkin Spice Latte for you noobs out there):

If you haven't had a PSL then literally what are you doing with your life. Get out. 5/5 basic white girl alert.

4. Pumpkin Pancakes:

They were okay. Little too much pumpkin and not enough syrup. Lame amirite? 3/5.

5. Pumpkin Pasta:

Yeah, it's a thing. and it's weird. Don't do it. Especially with the pumpkin vodka sauce. Eh 1/5 gross.

6. Pumpkin Scones:

So good. Very moist and lovely with the light glaze over the top. 5/5.

7. Pumpkin Spice Oreos:

How about no? Okay? Oreos were just fine before pumpkin spice sir. I don't need your pumpkin influence. 2/5.

8. Pumpkin Candy Corn:

Again, can we let perfection be perfection? Leave candy corn alone. 0/5

9. Pumpkin Ice Cream:

Surprisingly really creamy and delicious and full of pumpkin pie goodness. I can only find it at the organic type of whole foods stores but you can probably buy it at WalMart or something. 4/5.

10. And finally, Good Ol' Fashion Pumpkin Pie:

Well, duh. Pass the whipped cream. 10/5 best thing ever.

I don't know if this list is helpful and I hope no one actually eats as much pumpkin as I do. You might turn orange. Or is that carrots? Who knows.

The Daily Struggles of Being a College Commuter
morethanwheels

I've been in college for four years now. I spent half my time as a commuter and half as a resident so I've experienced both sides of the housing spectrum. One thing I've learned comparing the two is that my struggles as a commuter far outweigh anything I went through while living on campus. Commuters have to deal with the problems school brings along with a slew of other issues; I've filled up my gas tank in the worst kind of weather conditions and napped in random places in public more times than I'm proud to say of. This is a list of some of the most challenging aspects of being a commuter.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!
