Dear Dad,
Just so you know, this will not be a sappy letter. We are too cool to shed tears and it's just not our style. This is just a letter to let you know how much I appreciate you and to make sure you know that not a day goes by that I am not eternally grateful to have you as my Dad.
Ever since I was small, I have always looked up to you. I always thought you had the greatest sense of humor, the greatest "Dad" style and not to mention the best taste in music. I'll never forget the first time I ever heard "Crush" by Dave Matthews Band. I was sitting in the back of your tan pickup truck with the orange and blue flames on the side. I watched from the back seat as you rocked out to the bluesy rock tune and in that moment I knew that music would always be something that would connect us. Every time I play "Stone Temple Pilots", "Pearl Jam", or "Soundgarden", I always picture us jamming out together and being so similar in that way. I love having someone I can talk about 90s grunge with since so little people from my generation are really into that.
I'm so glad that I inherited your sense of humor. You are one of the funniest people I know and you don't even try to be! I make the same corny jokes as you and half the time laugh to myself because I think they're hysterical even though no one else does. However, I can always make stupid jokes with you and you always laugh! We can always have a good time and crack up at the same things and I love that about our relationship.
One thing that I admire most about you is your determination and hard work. You put your all into everything and have so much pride in what you do. You never fail to give it everything you've got and constantly teach all your children to do the same. Thank you for continuing to show us to work hard and never settle for anything.
You are really one of the coolest dads out there and I never want you to forget that. You are easy going and chill when need be but always know when to turn the parenting mode on. Thanks for being one awesome Dad and showing me how to be funny and have one totally cool music library!! I love you tons and hope you have an amazing Father's Day!
Love, Kristen
