Happy Birthday Letter For My Best Friends
Maddie Murcko

This week marks the birthdays of two of my best friends, and how else can I thank them for being my friend than by writing a sappy letter?

Dear Audrey and Sarah,

Happy Birthday! OK, yes, it's a little early but just accept my love, won't you? We've already been in this together for so long, so what's a few more decades together? All jokes aside, happy birthday to the most important people in my life. Every minute I spend with you is always filled with laughter, tears, and blankets. Whether we're on my couch in the living room, driving in someone's car, or in the Taco Bell parking lot, I love every moment with you.

My parents continuously say that I look the most comfortable, the most peaceful, and the happiest when I'm with you. It says something when an outsider can see that.

You are the few humans who Diego will accept. You are the few people Zoey gets excited to see. The two most important animals in my life adore you. And being empathetic people, you know how much that means to me.

There is never judgement. Not once in the years that I have known both of you have I ever felt judgement for my actions, my thoughts, my decisions, or my jokes. You have accepted me fully, and I am so thankful for that.

You make me feel loved. You make me feel beautiful. You make me feel funny. You make me feel confident.

You encourage me no matter what. Whether it is a new show ripping my brain apart, a new direction with my majors, a puppy I saw today, boys, etc., you both help me through it. When there was a death in our lives, we reassured the love between us. When Zoey was having health problems, you comforted me that everything would be OK. When we discuss our futures -- whether it's Audrey becoming a big time actress, Sarah becoming an influencer, and me still working my life out -- we reassure one another that we will always be there for each other. As silly as it may sound, I truly believe that we'll be together for the rest of our lives, and that is so exciting.

I've heard somewhere that if a friendship lasts longer than seven years, then it will last a lifetime. I don't need to wait any more years to already know that our friendship will last a lifetime.

You are the people I can call when I need to vent. You are the people I can trust with my insecurities, and my dreams. You are the people I can ask anything, and know you won't judge me for asking. You are the people I can be honest with, and know that I will receive honest answers. You are the people who I could spend days with, and we will always be laughing. You are my people, and I am so thankful for that.

I hope people in these world have a friendship like ours, because everyone deserves to feel happy when they are around their best friends. The love that I have for you both is unreal, but the love I feel from you both is something I could never describe.

Thank you for being my friend. Thank you for being my ally. Thank you for being my future. Thank you for everything. Here's to decades of adventures.

For the average 20-something, life moves pretty fast. You’ve got classes, friends, relationships, jobs, family, and whatever else we overcommit ourselves with. I probably should have learned to say no to adding more to my schedule a long time ago, but instead here are 11 things that can be more helpful than coffee.

Resting b***h face. Defined as a person, usually a girl, who naturally looks mean when her face is expressionless, without meaning to. Many of you suffer from this "condition." You are commonly asked what's wrong, when nothing is. What people don't know is that is just your facial expression. Here are some things they wish you knew.

College students, you might be able to relate to this one. These probably sound familiar because we often tell ourselves these phrases; however, we are unable to follow or agree with these the following, deep down inside of our overwhelmed, tired minds.

1. "No more spending money on useless things"

Until you walk into a 99 cents store and suddenly have the urge to pick up anything that's less than a dollar.

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.
