In honor of his 33rd birthday, here are 33 facts about Prince Harry:

  1. Born Prince Henry Charles Albert David, but his mother, Princess Diana, wanted something more modern so she called him Harry.
  2. Prince Harry was born on 15th of September 1984 and was christened on 21 December 1984.
  3. Princess Diana called him “My Little Spencer” because red hair is a family trait from her side of the family.
  4. His first royal tour overseas was to Italy when he was only eight months old.
  5. When Harry was younger, he was considered the tame one. His older brother, Prince William, was considered the “naughty one.” As time went on, obviously those roles reversed.
  6. When Prince Harry entered school at three years old, he was regularly bullied by other children.
  7. As a child, he was in many school plays.
  8. In 1997, Prince Harry fell in love with Africa when he went on a royal tour with his father, Prince Charles, and Harry has returned to Africa repeatedly for charitable activities and for fun.
  9. During this 1997 visit, he met Nelson Mandela and watched the Spice Girls perform.
  10. Prince Harry was never very good with at school, where his older brother was, so Harry spent much of his time on the sports field and in the art room.
  11. Prince Harry’s military ways started while he was at Eton College.
  12. While at Eton, he first tried marijuana, due to the abundance of it there.
  13. While at Eton, he had two A’s, one B in art, and a D in geography.
  14. During his gap year between graduation of Eton College and military service, Prince Harry worked on a ranch in Australia.
  15. Also during his gap year, he taught rugby at five different schools in Australia, Africa and Argentina.
  16. In 2006, Prince Harry and Prince Seeiso of Lesotho in Africa started the charity called Sentebale. The charity helps vulnerable children in Lesotho.
  17. Prince Harry served two years at Sandhurst military academy, and after this, he served in the war, despite being a high-ranked royal.
  18. He is a very impressive Apache helicopter pilot, and he was awarded the best copilot gunner trophy.
  19. In the Armed Forces, Prince Harry is known as Captain Wales because he doesn’t technically have a last name as a member of the royal family. Windsor is the house name, but his father is Prince of Wales.
  20. He was in the Armed Forces for a decade.
  21. Prince Harry really likes to play FIFA World Cup, a video game.
  22. While Prince Harry walked with a group in the North Pole for Walking with the Wounded project, he brought along an ice cream cake to share with everyone.
  23. Harry started the Invictus Games after going to the Warrior Games in Colorado, USA.
  24. Prince Harry hates Twitter.
  25. His favorite football club is Arsenal.
  26. During the wedding of Prince William to Catherine Middleton, Prince Harry was apparently there for moral support. Royal weddings have no best man.
  27. Harry has three medals to his name: an Operation Service Medal for Afghanistan, Queen Elizabeth II Golden Jubilee Medal and Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal.
  28. Growing up, Prince Harry had a fake Facebook page under the name Spike Wells. Spike is a nickname because of his crazy red hair.
  29. He really likes ice cream.
  30. Like his father, Prince Harry really enjoys botany.
  31. Prince Harry is a huge fan of Star Trek. No one is sure if he likes Star Wars as well, but he enjoys Star Trek so much that he reportedly wanted a spot on Richard Branson’s Virgin Galatic flights.
  32. His official residence is Kensington Palace in London. His older brother and sister in law live there as well. For most of his life, he lived in Clarence House with his father.
  33. Lastly, Prince Harry’s loyal fanbase is called “Harry Hunters.”

As people ages 18-22, we’re just trying to figure out what we’re doing with our lives, our careers, our eating habits, exercise routines, sleep patterns, and other necessities for adult life. We definitely don’t take proper care of ourselves; it’s basically impossible when we have essays, tests and readings due and somehow we’re supposed to eat right, exercise and sleep.
