Truthfully I have always struggled to find happiness. I actually never understood the word for awhile in my life. It's a word pursued by people but only some people truly achieve it. Why? Happiness isn't just a simple word, it is finding something that gives you a warm, funny feeling inside you like money, power, fame, or even helping a random person. For me, it is writing random and actual stories. I never understood it, but it is fun to me but might not be to others. Some people are amazingly gifted and gain happiness from gaining fame and fortune. But what about those who use their talents just because they have a talent?
Meeting someone new can also bring you happiness. I met my girlfriend at orientation and I have been happy ever since. Still, this word is thrown around a lot and it still does not make sense to me but whatever your personal definition is, it remains a mystery. Even my writing this doesn't help out with myself trying to find this happiness everyone tries to achieve. But I know it is there, and I will find it eventually and share it with the world.
It is awkward talking about this though since I usually do not talk about this. But I decided to talk about this since Christmas is coming very soon and happiness is spread across the world except with me. Why is happiness and Christmas related so closely together? It makes me feel left out, and like I'm just a random person in a world filled with happiness but I am not happy. Every once in a while people decide to become engulfed with the word and decide to be over happy and then the next day feel so low that it does not even matter and you forget what happiness even means to you and soon you can not find it anymore. So what is the importance of this word? Realizing that everyone needs that split second of joy in their lives or the moment you realize that everyone has something that makes people happy. But what is the point? The point is once happiness is found by yourself, it can only be described as a feeling that makes you feel like you can conquer anything. Happiness is worth the wait but it only sticks around if you make it. Finding it is only half the battle, knowing what it is to you is truly why happiness exists.
