The Importance Of Finding What You Love To Do

Your life is what you make of it, so why not create a life you love?

This world is filled with so many unhappy people. People who wake up in the morning dreading going to work. Counting down the hours until they can go home only to wake up the next day and still be faced with that feeling of being unfulfilled.

To be honest with you, I do not believe in fate, destiny, or the quote that "everything happens for a reason."

I believe we learn from experiences, but your life is your own just as your actions are your own. If you want something, if you want to obtain a certain goal, and/or if you want to be a someone that makes a difference or make something out of your life, the only thing standing in the way is you.

At the age of eighteen, I have a whole life and a whole world ahead of me. However, if there is one thing I have learned in my years of existence thus far, it is that finding happiness and finding what you LOVE is so important.

There are so many lost souls in search of what makes them feel alive, what gives them a purpose in life. I am a firm believer that if you want to seek adventure and a life that makes you happiest, it is all within your hands.

The importance of finding what you love to do is for the sheer purpose of living, rather than simply existing. We are all alive but there is a vast difference between having a routine that lacks creativity, purpose, and adventure and one that does.

Before you think there is nothing left to do, nowhere to go, no-one to meet, just remember that this world has over 7.6 billion people living on it, millions of miles to explore, and thousands upon thousands of opportunities for those who are willing to work for them.

Instead of being unhappy with the person you have become or the life you have- go forth and start finding the things you truly love. Create purpose and meaning and take time to find what you love to do. It is easier said than done but everything good in life requires time and effort. Your life is only what you make of it so make it the best one because you only have one.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.
