It's that time of year again when everyone decides to make (and broadcast) their own New Year's resolutions. I guess the new year marks a specific time for people; they think they must make changes in their life within a matter of days or even hours.
We make promises such as becoming more organized, going to the gym four days a week or not eating fast food. People make these possible resolutions, but why not make them a serious and established part of life? What I mean is this: why wait for a new year to make a change?
I've heard so many people tell me about what they will be doing in the new year, and no one has ever said "I want to be happy." It's important to create changes in your life without altering your state of happiness. If someone were to ask me what my New Year's resolution was, I'm not necessarily sure if I would have an answer. But if I did have a definite answer, I would respond with "making myself happy."
It's important that we create free time for ourselves in the midst of our crazy lives. Life isn't always all about having a specific plan that you need to follow, but what is important is the daily presence of happiness in your life.
