Hannah Montana was the highlight of my childhood and preteen years. It was my favorite show for numerous years in a row (R.I.P. to all my lost Hannah Montana/Miley Cyrus posters). I worshiped Hannah Montana as a child, so it's safe to say I equally worshiped her music and it had great influence on me as a kid. However, to my recent surprise, the influence of Hannah Montana's songs doesn't have to end with my childhood. As I discovered, some of my favorite 2000s popstar's songs still apply to me today in college. I channeled my 12-year-old-self to create a list of Hannah Montana's most inspirational songs.

1. "Nobody's Perfect"

Everybody makes mistakes. Everybody has those days.... 1, 2, 3, 4!

"Nobody's Perfect" has recently become my college career theme song, as it is a much-appreciated anthem to my GPA and a subtle reminder to not be so hard on myself. Hannah Montana's first season hit and my absolute favorite Hannah Montana song, "Nobody's Perfect," is a constant reminder that, indeed, nobody is perfect. We're human. "Everyone mistakes. Everyone has those days." The popstar's inspirational song promotes two life lessons: you have to work at what you want in life and to live and learn from your mistakes.

2. "Who Said"

"Who Said" is Hannah Montana's most compelling and inspirational song: letting girls know at a young age they can do whatever they want in life and they can be whatever they want in life. A reminder that we are all a little more than ordinary. Because who says you can't be Superman, 10 feet tall, and a president? Shout out to Hannah Montana for promoting equality and girl powersince 2006!

3. "True Friend"

Hannah Montana's hit "True Friend," perfectly describes the closest of friendships and what it means to be a true friend. "True Freind" is the ultimate theme song of any friend group. A true friend is someone who's here till the end, they'll pull you aside when something ain't right and talk with you now into the night 'til it's alright again. True friends will go to the ends of the earth for you.

4. "Life's What You Make It "

Another life lesson from Hannah Montana: life is what you make it. Sometimes I have to remind myself of this inspirational song by the 2000s pop star. "Life's What You Make It" is a simple reminder not to let the little frustrations of life bring you down. Hannah Montana promotes the idea that you're in control of your life and a new attitude can change everything. "Life is hard or It's a party: The choice is up to you."

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
