The year is 2016 and the most successful show on Broadway happens to be a story of one of our founding fathers, taking place hundreds of years in the past. A story of the American Dream and the impact it can have on a life as well as a nation. A story of a bastard, orphan, immigrant who came to America with determination to take become a soldier in the fight for freedom. By working hard, being a lot smarter and a self starter: Alexander Hamilton managed to do a million things, but never found himself truly Satisfied. His story begins in the Caribbean where his father abandoned him and his mother. Later on, Alexander loses his mother to illness in which Alexander managed to survive. Years later Alexander manages to find himself in route to NYC, where he can be a new man. Alexander soon meets Aaron Burr, which of whom, Alexander becomes friends with, along with his loyal friends and future fellow soldiers: John Laurens, Lafayette and Hercules Mulligan.
It is at this moment, his life changes, he is pursuit of getting his shot, something he will not be throwing away. Despite his status of being a diamond in the rough, Hamilton quickly opens the eyes to those around him of his immaculate intelligence and fierce want for independence and freedom. He manages to tell the story of tonight in a way that leaves you longing for a better tomorrow. His story continues on when he meets the Schuyler sisters, which of whom, he has individual relationships with, some of which are innocent, while others are not. His life changes when he marries Elizabeth Schuyler, also known as Eliza, and becomes brother-in-law to Angelica and Peggy. He goes from Helpless to a Hurricane with the support of his friends and family. He becomes a soldier after many failed attempts, due to the importance of his life to George Washington. He manages to go from Washington's Obedient servant to his Right hand man, becoming a commander in the Battle of Yorktown.
After the war is over, Hamilton and Burr chose to practice law, Burr chooses to take his time and wait for his moment of greatness. Alexander does the complete opposite, he works Non-stop and finds himself never taking a break. This leads to Hamilton's affair, where exhaustion and tiredness forces him to lose the ability to say "no to this" he finds himself in a tough place when his respect and name are threatened and chooses to expose his own secrets by writing the Reynold's Pamphlet in which he tells of his affair resulting in his wife realizing that maybe staying alive isn't always enough. The story continues on with politics and positions resulting in deaths and tears, with lessons of life and who tells your story after death.
The show consists of about 46 songs, give or take a few and has lyrics that manage to blow us all away. Hamilton is the real life story of life and the fact that it is controllable to only certain extents. It leaves you realizing that the world is wide enough for whatever dreams you can muster up and that you just have to be willing to fight hard for what you want. History has its eyes on all of us, it is up to us to choose what we want to do with that knowledge; Hamilton chose to not throw away his shot, what will you do with yours?
