It's almost time for the holidays. But not until I give you some tips on how to mentally prepare for them! Here's how to transition gracefully from spooky season to the holidays.
1. Make a list of things that you're thankful for
Whether you just write these things down in your journal or make a sticky note wall, this time of year is the best time to reflect on what you're grateful for.
2. Trade in your pumpkin spice latte for a peppermint mocha
The holiday cups make my heart happy! Grab a study buddy and go to Starbucks.
3. Take time to relax and detox from partying
You don't have to do a face mask, but taking some time to do something for yourself, aside from the partying scene, would do you well.
4. Call your family
It's hard to make time to talk to your family 24/7 this time of year, but you definitely should make some time. You can drop hints on what you'd like for Christmas and ask them what they'd like!
5. Make Pinterest boards of gifts you'd like to receive and give for Christmas
Holiday shopping is easier to navigate when you have a visual representation of what you want to give!
6. Make plans for Christmas break
Text an old friend or family member, "We should do *insert fun thing* as soon as I get home!" That way you'll have something to look forward to when you're drowning in work.
7. Go to Ragstock and buy some ugly Christmas sweaters
One of these and some pajama pants are your go-to winter break outfit.
8. Actually start wearing winter clothes
I'm guilty of waiting as long as possible to wear my big coat or gloves. But wearing them makes you feel like it's actually Christmas time!!!!
9. Download the "Calm" app
the #1 app for mindfulness & meditation! Does it get any better? Exactly what you need to get through this next month and a half.
10. Take the time to breathe
Spooky season is a time of spooks and fast-paced fall adventures. Now it's time to start taking it a bit slower. And the easiest way to do that is by just taking the time to breathe.
