According to history.com, Halloween originated with the ancient Celtic festival of Samhain.

People would wear costumes to get rid of ghosts and bad spirits. It was originally known as All Hallows Eve. Throughout time Halloween became what we know as of now such as trick-or-treating, carving pumpkins and dressing in costumes; still holding some of its origins.

Halloween is a fun holiday with an interesting origin and it comes with many traditions that people have made their own. Here are some things you should do during the month of October leading to the 31st...

Create a fall playlist

Whether it is indie/alternative rock that you can vibe to or some halloween favorites. The perfect fall playlist can get you in the mood to start your day or put you in the halloween spirit. Share a playlist with your friends or create one just for you.

Watch your Halloween favorite movies

Whether you are into the classic horror movies like Halloween and Nightmare on Elm Street or you like the family Halloween movies like Hocus Pocus and Corpse Bride; watch them all! Halloween movie nights are the best movie nights.

Drink Hot Apple Cider or Hot Chocolate

Get your favorite warm drinks and put those comfy socks on because it's going to start getting colder. Fall is the perfect time to get you in the mood for colder weather because if you don't do it right then you are just going to be grumpy.

Everything smells better and it is just cold enough to be under a blanket but not too cold to were you are shaking. Candy corn, chocolate and those popcorn balls. Halloween is that time of year where it's okay to eat a bowl of candy because it's Halloween! It's the time for fun pumpkin sweats and little ghost cookies. Enjoy!

Dress up

Halloween is that time of year were you can dress up as something completely different and weird and not get judged for it. Dress up as your favorite character in a movie or a your favorite legend. Go all out, put some crazy makeup on or make your own outfit.
