Halloween is near, and that means it is time for massive preparations! Folks, get out your pumpkins and candy because it is go time. I am a huge Halloween fan; I always have been and I always will be. No one will take my Halloween spirit from me. Get out the movie Hocus Pocus and let's go. My family and I have some traditions that we try to do each year. I'm sure you can relate.

One tradition that my parents and I do is to carve a pumpkin. I'm not one of those girls who is afraid to get my hands inside that pumpkin. It's going down for real. Usually I say, "step aside Dad, it's my time to shine." I love saving some of the pumpkin seeds and baking them. It makes a great snack! And it is healthy and nutritious!

Another tradition my parents and I usually do is play Halloween songs. Really the only one we play is called "Monster Mash;" It is a classic, and if you have not heard this song, Google it. I don't disappoint, so go for it.

The last tradition that occurs at this lovely Halloween time is hanging out candy! This is my favorite part. I did this more in high school because I was home, but hopefully one year in college Halloween will fall on a day that I can actually witness this magical time. I love handing out candy because, duh! You get to eat some of the candy.

I hope you all have a wonderful Halloween! Stay safe, eat candy, and remember to carve your pumpkin!

Resting b***h face. Defined as a person, usually a girl, who naturally looks mean when her face is expressionless, without meaning to. Many of you suffer from this "condition." You are commonly asked what's wrong, when nothing is. What people don't know is that is just your facial expression. Here are some things they wish you knew.

College students, you might be able to relate to this one. These probably sound familiar because we often tell ourselves these phrases; however, we are unable to follow or agree with these the following, deep down inside of our overwhelmed, tired minds.

1. "No more spending money on useless things"

Until you walk into a 99 cents store and suddenly have the urge to pick up anything that's less than a dollar.

For the past few months, I have not been my usual happy-go-lucky-self for a number of reasons, but one thing that has been helping me is to think about all of the little things in my life that I am thankful for. I know this might seem really cliché, but it is so true. I cannot stress enough how much better I feel when I think about all the great people and privileges I have in my life. It makes all of the insignificant things that I am stressing about or worrying about in my head seem not nearly as bad. I have decided to make a list of 26 things (out of many more) in my life that I am especially thankful for.
