These Rice Krispie treats make perfect snacks or desserts for the weeks leading up to Halloween:

1. First, melt 6 tablespoons of butter in a big pot.

2. After the butter is melted (but not burned), add in a 10 ounce bag of marshmallows (make sure to stir them!).

3. Once the butter and marshmallows are added, add in 1/4 teaspoon or so of vanilla and pumpkin spice (found in most supermarkets). Also add some orange food coloring (how much you add depends on how saturated you want the color to be).

4. Turn off the heat on the stove and stir in about 8 cups of Rice Krispies.

5. After it's slightly cooled, roll the Rice Krispies into small balls and let them cool completely. If you want to make it look more realistic, create little dips in the sides.

6. Then, cut up green licorice candy and put it in the top for stems (the licorice can be substituted for rolos and green icing).

7. If you want to turn it into a carved pumpkin, cut fruit leather in the shapes of the face. Enjoy!

Epic Creation Myths: Norse Origins Unveiled

What happened in the beginning, and how the heavens were set in motion.

The Norse Creation Myth

Now, I have the everlasting joy of explaining the Norse creation myth. To be honest, it can be a bit kooky, so talking about it is always fun. The entire cosmos is included in this creation myth, not just the earth but the sun and the moon as well. This will be a short retelling, a summary of the creation myth, somewhat like I did with Hermod's ride to Hel.
