Halloween doesn't have to be about partying. Here are some ideas to fill your spooky season.

1. Bake some Halloween treats for your neighbors or roommates , or heck, even yourself.

Baking is always a fun activity to do and it's even better when you can create sweet treats that will get you into the Halloween spirit. Put on your favorite mix of spooky music, I suggest the Haunted Mansion queue music, and bake some ghost cake pops, Frankenstein cupcakes, or some mummies in a blanket (instead of pigs in a blanket) and celebrate spooky season. You might even feel brave enough to attempt making your own homemade version of the famous pumpkin spice latte! After your done baking, share the spread of treats you made with roommates or neighbors, I'm sure they will be thankful that you did.

2. Have a Halloween movie marathon.

Halloween movies are always great. Plus, they get you in a spooky mood. There are so many to choose from, from "Twitches" to the ever-famous "Hocus Pocus," there's bound to be something that you'll enjoy. Pop in a spooky movie, grab some popcorn and candy (of course) and celebrate Halloween! Not only is there a bunch of movies to choose from so you can literally have a Halloween movie marathon. This is a great thing to do with friends or even by yourself. If you don't enjoy the Halloween party scene, this activity is for you.

3. Hand out candy to the trick-or-treaters.

Handing out candy to the trick-or-treaters is always a good idea, especially if, like me, you don't have any plans this Halloween. You'll be able to enjoy Halloween, get in the Halloween spirit, and you just might be able to snag a couple pieces of candy for yourself. Not to mention, who doesn't love seeing all of the little kids in your neighborhood dress up in costume each year? I personally love seeing all of the little pirates, princesses, ghosts, and goblins trick-or-treat each year. Plus, little kids dressed up in costumes equals a cuteness overload. Am I right or am I wrong?

4. Become a scare actor in your local haunted house.

Giphy

Who hasn't thought about what it would be like to be a scare actor at least once in their life? I know I have. Even if you don't enjoy being scared or even watching scary movies like me, being a scare actor in a haunted house is pretty cool, in my opinion. Not only do you get the opportunity to witness the inner workings and behind the scenes operations of a haunted house, but you also get to wear tons of cool, spooky special effects makeup and you get to be a part of something that will surely be an experience you will never forget. It may even turn out to be your best Halloween yet.

Overall, don't worry if you don't have plans for Halloween, because I can guarantee you that if you end up following one of my suggestions, you will probably end up having a great Halloween night.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.
