October has finally arrived and is in full swing. That means the leaves will be changing, the flannels will be dusted off and everyone's veins will be pumping pumpkin spiced lattes. But more importantly, Halloween is right around the corner! Aside from your costume being the most important part of Halloween, how you prepare and get yourself in the Hallo-spirit is just as important.
These 13 movies will for sure get you in the mood for the most fun-filled time of year. Some may even scare the crap out of you...it's all part of the fun.
13. "The Addams Family"
They're creepy and they're cooky, and they're the perfect, most twisted family to get you in that Halloween mood.
12. "The Exorcist"
It's terrifying, even for a film from the 70s, and it's a must-see.
11. "Edward Scissorhands"
One of Tim Burton's best work, in my opinion. It's not only weird and creepy, but it's an incredibly heartwarming story. Not to mention Johnny Depp. That is all.
10. "It's The Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown"
Such a classic. No matter how old you get, this must grace your TV at least once this October.
9. "Beetlejuice"
I love this movie. It's so weird, and it's SO GOOD. Michael Keaton kills it and made this character so memorable. It's fantastic, to say the least.
8. "Friday the 13th"
Not just the first one, but make it a marathon. These classic movies are a must-see, even though some are a bit ridiculous. You absolutely HAVE to watch them during Halloween!
7. "Nightmare on Elm Street"
Another movie marathon for you. There is something so utterly terrifying about the idea of a burnt, dead, child molester that can attack you in your dreams. It truly is what nightmares are made of. Johnny Depp graces us with his presence again.
6. "Casper"
He's the friendly ghost and is just so adorable. This movie is so cute, and if you haven't seen it, what are you doing?
5. "Scream"
One of the best. The best thing about this movie is it's based off the classic horror movies and pretty much uses them as inspiration. There may be four movies, but trust me on this one, just watch the first. You'll thank me later.
4. "The Nightmare Before Christmas"
Is it a Halloween movie? A Christmas movie? Why not both?! Tim Burton appears on this list a second time, and for good reason. The music in this is fabulous, as is the storyline as a whole.
3. "Halloweentown"
When Disney Channel was at its peak. This is another movie that you only need to watch the first one, well maybe the second one too. The rest, however, are a disgrace. It'll make you super jealous that you can't be a witch hanging out with Aggie and Marnie in Halloweentown.
2. "Halloween"
What's Halloween without some Michael Meyers? He's scary AF, ruthless, and indestructible apparently. It'll freak you out from ever babysitting again, and even going out on Halloween.
1. Hocus Pocus
If you expected any other movie to be in the number one spot, please get your priorities in order. The single greatest Halloween movie EVER. It requires no explanation, it is simply amazing.
