It's the first week of November, and that means we are in full holiday swing. The holiday cups are out at Starbucks, Michaels is selling crafts for Thanksgiving and Christmas, and your old, kooky neighbors already put their lights up. However, as you attempt to decide if you can justify a Christmas tree this early or whether you should bake a pumpkin or pecan pie for Friendsgiving, there is still one thing to contend with: Halloween Candy.

Undoubtedly, you went and bought a few bags in case there were trick or treaters...and then a few extra once it was on sale for 50%. Now you are stuck with an ungodly amount of chocolate and an overwhelming desire to bake holiday treats. Here are a few recipes to help you channel all of that feeling into delicious treats for you or to share!

1. No Bake Hershey Bar Pie

This pie uses good, old-fashioned Hershey's Bars with Almonds for a deliciously creamy filling. The best part? You don't even need to heat up the oven for this recipe, so it could even be attempted in a dorm!

2. Creamy Snickers Dip

Who would have thought that chopping up Snickers in a bunch of creamy cool whip and cream cheese would make for an amazing appetizer?! Bring some apples and pretzels to make this amazing dip into a tailgate classic.

3. Almond Joy Crescent Rolls

These little treats are basically the perfect way to sneak candy into breakfast. What could go wrong with almond joys wrapped in crescent roll dough?!

4. Biscoff Twix Popcorn

This recipe combines cookie butter and Twix, so every basic girl should be satisfied for good. Also, this recipe is SO simple, you would be a fool to not make this literally right now.

5. Whopper Brownies

If you're anything like me, Whoppers are one of your least favorites in the grab bag of the chocolate world. However, put them in brownies with some delicious malted buttercream and we have a different story.

6. Candy Popsicles

What to do with the gummy, fruity candy you inevitably grabbed a bit of? Throw them in a popsicle mold with lemonade or sprite and call it a day!

7. Dark Chocolate Reese's Pieces Cookies

These cookies look amazing to say the least. And, better than amazing, the combo of peanut butter and dark chocolate may just be the perfect solution to stress eating before testing season.

8. Butterfinger Puppy Chow

This recipe uses two different types of Butterfinger, so that means it must be twice as rich, right? Again, this quick and easy treat is perfect for those without an oven, making it the best way for you to win over your whole dorm in an instant.

9. Candy Corn Milkshake

Now, this milkshake is nondairy, so rejoice to all of you lactose-intolerant babes. However, this milkshake is even better thanks to the addition of candy corn (!!) and, if you're feeling really crazy, the optional banana and pumpkin.

10. Pilgrim Hat Cupcakes

Get in the spirit for the next upcoming holiday with these super cute cupcakes that use Reese's cups as an adorable topper. This recipe is super simple but is sure to impress everyone at your next get-together.

Now, enjoy your treats and use all of your candy possible!

I know every college student has daily thoughts throughout their day. Whether you're walking on campus or attending class, we always have thoughts running a mile a minute through our heads. We may be wondering why we even showed up to class because we'd rather be sleeping, or when the professor announces that we have a test and you have an immediate panic attack.

The Great Christmas Movie Debate

"A Christmas Story" is the star on top of the tree.

The Great Christmas Movie Debate

One staple of the Christmas season is sitting around the television watching a Christmas movie with family and friends. But of the seemingly hundreds of movies, which one is the star on the tree? Some share stories of Santa to children ("Santa Claus Is Coming to Town"), others want to spread the Christmas joy to adults ("It's a Wonderful Life"), and a select few are made to get laughs ("Elf"). All good movies, but merely ornaments on the Christmas tree of the best movies. What tops the tree is a movie that bridges the gap between these three movies, and makes it a great watch for anyone who chooses to watch it. Enter the timeless Christmas classic, "A Christmas Story." Created in 1983, this movie holds the tradition of capturing both young and old eyes for 24 straight hours on its Christmas Day marathon. It gets the most coverage out of all holiday movies, but the sheer amount of times it's on television does not make it the greatest. Why is it,
then? A Christmas Story does not try to tell the tale of a Christmas miracle or use Christmas magic to move the story. What it does do though is tell the real story of Christmas. It is relatable and brings out the unmatched excitement of children on Christmas in everyone who watches. Every one becomes a child again when they watch "A Christmas Story."

It's the most wonderful time of the year! Christmas is one of my personal favorite holidays because of the Christmas traditions my family upholds generation after generation. After talking to a few of my friends at college, I realized that a lot of them don't really have "Christmas traditions" in their family, and I want to help change that. Here's a list of Christmas traditions that my family does, and anyone can incorporate into their family as well!

It’s here; that time of year when college students turn into preschoolers again. We cry for our mothers, eat everything in sight, and whine when we don’t get our way. It’s finals, the dreaded time of the semester when we all realize we should have been paying attention in class instead of literally doing anything else but that. Everyone has to take them, and yes, unfortunately, they are inevitable. But just because they are here and inevitable does not mean they’re peaches and cream and full of rainbows. Surviving them is a must, and the following five phases are a reality for all majors from business to art, nursing to history.
