The month of October is underway which means Halloween is right around the corner. For some, this is a time of terror and fear. For others, this months means truly embracing all that is scary and fearsome. For those of you who like to be spooked, this article is for you.

One of the best parts about the Halloween season is being able to go to various haunted attractions. It might be hard to find which one's are worth visiting, so here are just a few popular Halloween attractions (in the Tristate area).

1. The Headless Horseman (Sleepy Hollow, NY)


This attraction is a popular one given the lore around Sleepy Hollow. It is a rather terrifying experience full of haunted houses and outdoor mazes. This is definitely not for the faint of heart.

2. Kevin McCurdy's Haunted Mansion (Wappinger Falls, NY)

This popular attraction is located in the Hudson Valley region. It is an upkept traditional attraction full of new spooks and scares updated every year. This year, in fact, marks the 40th anniversary of this attraction!

This attraction is a real scare. In fact, it has been voted as Connecticut's scariest Halloween attraction!
