It's that time of year folks! With Halloween just over a week ago and costumes being packed away for future years, we've come to the most important time of the Halloween season: which candy to keep and which candy to either trade with a friend or throw away? Now, I know everyone has their candy preference whether it's chocolate or fruity, but lets get the facts straight. When it comes to candy, it doesn't matter whether or not you follow your preference because some chocolate candies suck and some fruity ones aren't any better. So, which candies are the best? Here's my opinion from least to best!
10. Dots
Does anyone actually eat these gummy things? I've never been fond and can tell you some horror stories from my days when these things got stuck in my braces.
9. Candy Corn
This stuff isn't actually terrible but I prefer more fulfilling candies. It's a million times better than those rainbow dot things though!
8. Sugar Babies
These caramel candies have never been at the top of my list. I'm not sure if it's the caramel that gets stuck in my teeth or what it is but I'm not a fan of these.
7. Peppermints
These are just atrocious. I'm a fan of peppermints but it just seems a bit early to hand me something that reminds me of Christmas.
6. Bottle Caps
These hurt my teeth. They're hard and they all taste the same. How can I enjoy the flavor of a nice Bottle Cap when they all taste so similar? No thank you!
5. Hershey's Chocolate
I'm not much of a chocolate person but I love to enjoy a piece of dark chocolate every now and then! It brings great joy to my adult heart when I receive dark chocolate in my goodie bag!
4. Swedish Fish
I'm not sure who thought rainbow ones would be a good idea because the red ones are the best. These gummy candies can be considered the older, better sibling to those nasty Dot candies.
3. Sour Patch Kids
First they're sour! Lets be honest. Sour Patch Kids are phenomenal. They're a staple candy in the candy tree and if anyone tells you differently, cut them out of your life. Personally, I favor the red and blue ones over the less superior yellow, but hey! That's just me!
2. FunDip
I'm not sure this is actually a good qualifier for number 2 on the list but it reminds me of my childhood so I couldn't overlook it! The powdery goodness coating the hard piece of candy never failed me and I can vaguely recall fighting over them with my peers.
1. Reeses
I'm not talking about normal Reeses candy. I'm talking about the pumpkin shaped ones! For some reason, the normal ones just don't taste as good. I'm not sure if it's the peanut butter to chocolate ratio but I'm sure that definitely plays a role!
Don't get me wrong, I grew up grateful for all of the wonderful candies I received but some just weren't at the top of my list. Even if you don't get your favorite candies this year, hopefully you can still achieve some great heights by either buying your own favorites or sharing the ones you dislike with your friends who might love them!
