Our skin and many other mammals' skin, produces hair for quite different reasons. The reasons can range between hygiene, protection, odor reducer, cosmetic, etc. Hair collects particles and is produced in a follicle located in every pore of our bodies, whether we can see it or not. Depending on our religion, tradition, culture and nationality, hair can be seen used for many different purposes. In certain religions like the Muslim, hair on a woman's head can be seen as taboo if exposed. In today's urban Gen Z generation, men and women do designs and cut their hair in many different ways.
However, there are certain parts of the body that having hair on a woman is not acceptable and in some cases on men as well. This theory is mainly in the modern world as those still living in third world countries don't see it as such. Women in the new era, are expected to not have facial, under arm, legs and in some cases bikini hair. Some women go as extreme as to wanting to temporarily remove their body hair by using laser hair removals, electrolysis, shaving, hair removal creams, gels and/or lotions.
The hair removal industry has become a large money maker in today's economy. However, there are some people who go against the grain and grow their hair in areas that we do not see as traditional or even common. Some women today are growing their under arms hair and dyeing it as those depicted in the pictures. This is a fad that has peeked its nose out and we are seeing a diverse opinion on this subject matter.
Personally, I think this is bizarre but kudos to them for being different! I respect their decisions but granted it is not something you see every day! Growing up, even if you would see a small stub of hair on a woman's under arm it was seen as unacceptable and I sorta kinda still feel this way! Granted many of us live incredibly busy lives, especially living in NYC but in my opinion having under arm hair is not sanitary. At the end though, we all are cut from different fabrics and we deserve to be created differently. #promoteindividuality
