Because who has time for flat hair?

Hairstyles for Hot Summer Days

During the summer, hair can be a challenge. Even though it seems easier to keep your hair down and let it dry naturally it can be a pain. If you have plans to curl it, it does not want to stay curled (or straight for that matter). It just falls flat in the humidity. Even if you are lucky enough to escape the humidity your hair causes you to sweat when it is down. Eventually, that ends in flat hair as well. The good news is that there are plenty of hairstyles out there that are both cute and great for the hot summer days.

1. The Top Knot

This is probably one of the most well-known hairstyles nowadays. It is super easy to toss your hair up in a knot and rock a messy hair do. What is even better is that you can dress it up AND down.

2. Top Know with a Braid

Sticking with the top knot... you can add something a little extra, such as a braid, headband, or both (like below!). This makes it look like you took time to do your hair and also helps ensure that your hair will not be in your face.

3. Low Messy Bun with a Braid

If you are not a fan of the top knot then a low messy bun may be perfect for you. The braid adds to it to make it even cuter and helps secure the hair back, especially if you have fly-aways. This is the perfect hairstyle for a day at the beach.

4. Fishtail Braid

Not a messy bun/top knot fan at all? Go for a simple fishtail braid instead. It is a quick and easy to style hair that can be worn for everything from a day at the beach to a night out with your friends.

5. Fishtail Pigtails

If you have got the luscious locks for it and are a fan of braids.... try fishtail pigtails! It is also an easy hairstyle to throw a hat to shade your face if necessary.

6. High Pony

Step away from braids and messy buns and go with a relaxed high pony. It gets all the hair off your shoulders and back! If you need to, you can dress up it up in the evening to a bow or headband.

7. Braided High Pony Tail

Add something a little extra to your average high pony tail by braiding it. You hair will be contained and it is great for various activities!

8. Half-Up Bun with a Braid

Don't want all of your hair up? Sometimes it is nice to your hair just out of your face. Try this messy bun with a French braid into it. The French braid adds a little something to make it more unique.

9. Crown Braid

If you like the idea of braiding your hair another great style is the crown braid. It is another simple hairstyle that will last all day long and into the night.

10. Tucked French Braid

During summer you want effortless hair styles that will take you two seconds and keep your hair out of your face. That is what makes the Tucked French Braid so perfect. It is simple, quick, and easy!

10 Signs You Work In A Restaurant

There's always chaos in the restaurant business.

10 Signs You Work In A Restaurant
Brisanis

Working in the restaurant industry is possibly the most fundamentally challenging occupation I have ever experienced when it comes to hospitality and customer service. When you go to a five-star restaurant you expect the time of your life, a two hour getaway, a walk through another time period (rustic Italy, France, Spain, etc), or simply a honeymoon undergo. What you don't see are the behind the scenes scut work: carrying trays, polishing glassware and silverware, kitchen chaos, the list is endless. Now, I'm not saying being a host, server, or bartender is the worst thing in the whole wide world, there are definitely worse things. But the fact of the matter is that it isn't always sunshine and rainbows. In the two years that I have spent in restaurant and customer service, I have spoken my share of expletives, yelled at kitchen staff, and dealt with not-so-happy guests. It isn't easy to keep a bright and shiny smile on your face when all you want to do is choke every person who walks near you. Anyone who has spent even two weeks working in a restaurant understands the rigor and stress that comes with it. Restaurant culture is a tiny world in and of itself that operates on its own principles and creates its own society. It even has its own language. The sayings "runner", "corner", and "on a bus" wouldn't make sense to anyone otherwise. My mother and I both work in a restaurant and the best advice I can give someone going out to eat is to treat us like people. Yes...believe it or not we are people, people. Say "please" and "thank you", or stack your cleared plates before a busser gets to the table. Trust me, the gesture goes a lot farther than you may think.

So, if you work in a restaurant, you can relate with the following points. If not, check out how the brain of a restaurant service (or any customer service) worker actually works. See if you can identify any crazy weird habits your friends have a tendency to partake in.

One of the scariest things we will ever face in our life is going to college. Many of us move away to a new town, join new organizations, and make new friends. We are expected to study, have a social life, relationships, maybe work, and be healthy. If you are in high school, here are some things that you can learn from before you get to college. If you have already been through your freshman year of college, hopefully you can relate to the things I have learned in college.
