Celebrities often have an undeniable "charisma" that ordinary people can only dream of. They seem to light up a room just by walking in, always have something interesting to say, and make everyone feel special.

So what is it that makes these celebrities so likable? And is there anything we mere mortals can learn from them? As it turns out, there are certain habits that super-likable people share. If we want to be likable, we can adopt these habits and start making a positive impression on the people around us.

1. Eye Contact

When you talk to someone, do you look at their forehead instead of making eye contact? It's a common habit, but it makes people feel you're not listening to them. Super-likable people, on the other hand, always make eye contact. They want to see the person they're talking to and want that person to feel seen.

However, there is a distinct difference between making eye contact and staring. Staring is intense and can make people feel uncomfortable. Instead of staring, focus your eyes softly on the person's face. This will show that you're interested in what they have to say without making them feel like they're under a microscope.

2. Smile

A genuine smile is one of the most powerful social tools we have. It makes us look friendly and approachable and makes the people we smile at feel good about themselves. Of course, you don't want to walk around with a giant grin all day. But when you're talking to someone, taking a moment to flash them a sincere smile can make a world of difference.

Smiling also has the bonus of making you feel happier yourself. So next time you feel down, try smiling and see if it doesn't lift your spirits.

3. Listen More Than You Talk

We all like to talk about ourselves. It's only natural. But if you want to be likable, you must focus more on listening than talking. People love to feel heard and understood, and they'll likely warm up to you if you're a good listener.

Of course, that doesn't mean you should just sit there like a bump on a log while the other person does all the talking. The key is to strike a balance. Listen more than you talk, but contribute to the conversation.

4. Confidence

Confidence is beautiful. People are drawn to others who seem secure in themselves and their abilities. So if you want to be more likable, work on exuding confidence. That doesn't mean you have to be the most famous person in the room or know all the answers. It just means believing in yourself and being comfortable in your skin.

Confidence also shows in how you believe in your sexuality and appearance. If you don't think you're attractive, other people won't either. If you check out 12past12.com, you will see how free celebrities are with their sexualities and relationships and how this confidence trickles down to the audience. It is one of the many reasons we find them so likable!

5. Positivity

Nobody likes a Negative Nancy. So if you want to be more likable, focus on being positive. Look for the silver lining in every situation and try to find the good in people, even when they're driving you crazy.

It's not always easy to stay positive, but it's worth the effort. People are attracted to others who make them feel good, and you'll be much more likable if you're the source of that good feeling.

These are five habits of super-likable people. If you want to be likable, try adopting these habits and see how it goes. Chances are, you'll find that people are more drawn to you than ever. And who knows? You just might make some new friends along the way.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.
