Finding a gym that meets all of your needs, has hours that fit with your schedule and is close to your home are all very important factors. Another extremely important factor is cost and for most people, the cheaper, the better. If you are trying to re-vamp your athletic side, burn off all of the holiday treats, or just need to renew your gym membership, here are a few gyms deals to get the ball rolling.

Planet Fitness is always an awesome place to start a new workout regimen. They are a judgement free zone, discourage against grunting excessively during workouts and feature massage chairs and other types of therapy. Planet Fitness monthly membership starts at $10!

2. Gold's Gym

This gym is standard in that it has all the exercise equipment you need as well as exercise classes and themed rooms that are included in your membership. This membership starts at $19.99 bi-weekly.

3. Charter Fitness

This gym may not have any locations near you if you live on the east coast, as they are mostly populated in the Midwest. This gym boats a $10 monthly membership for one location and a premium membership for $19.95.

4. YMCA

Check local! Your YMCA probably has pretty reasonable student discounts and family memberships. Most YMCA's have exercise classes and a pool for you to utilize as well as the standard equipment gyms provide.

5. A Home Gym

If you have multiple individuals in your family that are looking to utilize a gym membership and you have the space in your home, you might want to consider investing in a home gym. Elite Fitness has great deals to get you started, but this equipment is very expensive and requires commitment.

Avoid the hassle of calling corporate when an unknown amount is charged on your credit card 3 months down the road and get all the answers before you purchase a membership and join a gym.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.
