Did I find the secret to THAT body??
No, because there is no ONE single secret that is going to get you that “perfect” body you have been dreaming of. Whether your goal is to build muscle, trim some body fat, or lose any amount of weight, it will take work, discipline, and determination to reach your goal. A healthier life style is a goal we can all work towards. Since there are so many different weight loss programs and detox teas, I am determined to unearth hundreds of ways to create a healthier experience for your body and mind.
For the financially conscious, instead of paying for a gym membership you can consider working out at home. The gym can be an intimidating place with all the machines, all the people, and all the costs, but chances are you have enough space around you at this moment to get a decent workout in. Normally you might go to the gym, warm up with some cardio either on the treadmill, stairs or elliptical and then look around for what machine looks easiest to operate. A free alternative would be warming up with jumping jacks, mountain climbers and or jumping rope. Your body is just as good as those machine at the gym. You can find many different types of work outs online that don't require any extra equipment. Next week we'll go over an example of a complete work out that can be done for home, but in the meantime feel free to do some research to compare.
Working out at home allows for a certain air of freedom. It doesn’t have to be just push ups or sit ups. I’m clearly obsessed with YouTube, but there’s a ton of dance tutorials and dance workouts that will get you up and moving. So you’re not the greatest dancer. Who cares because you’ll be in your own house. You could be in your pajamas. The walls are not going to judge you. Your hair can look any sort of way too. While you’re dancing up a storm finishing strong with a difficult exercise, you can blast your music and leave your headphones tangled up wherever it is you had them last. The gym, however, will blast their own music sometimes forcing you to insert those buds to hear your favorite songs at the end of an already long day.
The gym also has set hours, although some are open 24 hours a day, an excuse often used is that there isn't enough time. I’ve realized, with the possibility in my mind of working out at home, any thought of working out that pops into my head is my subconscious giving me the chance to get off my bed and jump rope, do some yoga or try new bodyweight exercises. Here's a few more than a few to get you started.
Disclaimer: Not everyone’s bodies are the same. Not everyone’s bodies will react the same to specific things. I think one of the main purposes in life is to get to a place where you love yourself. My only point here, today is that you are more motivated to be healthy so you can enjoy the things you want to want enjoy and live to see all the things you want to see. One of my guilty pleasures is junk food so if I want to eat all that pizza, I will also drink the daily requirement of water or I will run a little extra. The pizza may cancel out the run, but in life there must always be balance and baby steps.
