Guys, This Is For You

Do it for the boys

Guys, This Is For You

First, I want to say how happy I am that I found my best guy friends within the first week of school. It can take a while to find your close friends considering we go to a school with 14,000 undergraduates, but I found you all. Until now, I never really knew what it was like just to be friends with a guy, because it always ended up meaning something more. Thank you for teaching me how I should be treated.

I am beyond grateful that I have...

Guys that listen to my struggles

Guys that would come sit with me when I was eating alone

Guys that would come up at 3 am just to keep me company

Guys that would pretend to date me just to fend off the clingy men

Guys that would bring me food and make me tea when I was sick

Deep down, I feel you guys resemble the brothers I never had. You always have my back, and I want you to know always have yours. One thing that I love about our relationship is that we can discuss my guy problems or your girl problems and we can give each other solid advice. Let's face it, any girl would be crazy if they didn't want you in their life because you all just have awesome characteristics.

One reason I am glad to have you guys is because there is less drama. Girls can be nasty as you know and start rumors and make it into an unnecessary passive aggressive battle that never seems to end! You always include me, whether it is the weekly DJ's outing or even just going to the gym. I love the small things--like hanging out with our favorite RSA Jason at 2 AM, blasting music and starting a random dance party. These things add up and I look back and realize how important you are to me.

As Mike always says "Do it for the boys"

Love you guys. Let's make these next four years count.

I'm serious

There are tons of unisex names that are popular: Taylor, Alex, Bailey, etc. There are also numerous names that are used for both sexes, but they’re not seen as “unisex” yet. People are slowly becoming accustomed to the dual use of these names, but for the most part, in their minds they associate certain names with certain sexes. And that leaves those of us with these names in many awkward situations.

I'm an anthropology major, and I love every minute of it. I couldn't tell you why, but I guess there's just something about studying different lifestyles that absolutely fascinates me. But anthropology majors definitely have our weird sides, especially when you go to a school that is filled with mostly Business and Bio majors. But us weirdos definitely have a lot in common, specifically these 16 things.

pale girl

Everyone has insecurities, that's just a fact. You didn't ask to be born this way. You didn't ask to inherit the one trait no one else in your family has. And you definitely didn't ask to be this ghostly white. But as soon as you've learned to live with it for a while (less wrinkles later on in life, right? right???) someone has to ruin it for you. They have to flaunt they're perfectly tanned body from Spring Break and hold their sun-kissed skin against yours. But I've had enough... here are the things that perpetually pale individuals are tired of hearing.

Being a part of any organization undoubtedly comes with the pitfalls of being grouped into negative stereotypes, and sororities are certainly no exception. Here are the top few things, that I find at least, are some of the most irritating misconceptions that find their way into numerous conversations...

8. "The whole philanthropy thing isn't real, right?"

Well all those fundraisers and marketing should would be a waste then wouldn't they?
