As the streetwear trend progresses and gender labels dissolve it is becoming a common theme that women are wearing larger clothing and even picking up items from the men's section. We are shifting to an age of unisex clothing for women, but what are men's stance on this trend?
1. Not Every Girl Can Pull Off Menswear
Ever heard, "wear your clothes, don't let them wear you." This is what it means. You express yourself through the clothes you wear, so naturally they should work for you. It's your style so the outfit is meant for you and no one else. As long as you are not dressed like you are trying to be someone else, dressing in menswear is not out unacceptable.
2. You Need A Feminine Touch
Wearing over-sized clothes can be very attractive. It shows that you can be versatile in various forms of dress. However, having that feminine touch is necessary. Feminine touch can be displayed by adding a tighter piece of clothing alongside the over-sized piece, wearing earrings such as hoops or wearing makeup. Guys don't want to look at you and question if you are a girl. They like the casual look, however with a bit of sex appeal.
3. Don’t Dress Down Everyday
It is good to be reminded that you still enjoy feminine looks. Guys appreciate a girl that can dress down and do it well while still being able to dress up in something more "girly". Don't loose sight of getting all dolled up and they won't forget you're not just one of the bros.
4. There Is A Time And Place
If you're going on a date or anywhere you should dress nice, a more feminine outfit would be a better choice for the occasion. The same way you expect him to come out of that graphic tee, ripped jeans and dusty shoes, he expects the same from you.
5. You Should Feel Comfortable
Ultimately it doesn't matter what you wear as long as you feel good and are able balance your tomboy style with feminine attire.
This is a reminder that you should always dress according to how you feel. Never change who you are because of the opinion of an outsider. The only opinion that is yours.
