Now, I want to address first that although addiction and nicotine are big issues, gun control should be prioritized higher than the discontinuation of sales of Juul pods.
When I went to school, I never thought I would have to worry about being shot. In today's day and age, we have to be concerned about gun threats in what is supposed to be a safe space. When I moved into college I didn't think about the possibility of a gun threat until there was an empty one made by some kid too drunk one night. Too many times have my friends sent me screenshots about threats of gunmen on campus, and never did I think I would call my mom crying from an empty threat.
We as human beings should have more of a desire to end the continuous issue of mass shootings than keeping an amendment written by dead men who didn't and will never experience what it is like to experience an empty threat, an actual threat, a shooting, the loss of someone close to them, or even their own death.
We should be more worried about the sales of firearms and ammunition than if our children are going to choose mango or mint pods to vape.
Enough is enough, advocacy is needed, compassion is needed, but ultimately gun control is needed.
And please don't comment that you're going to miss your guns, cry about your beloved weapon somewhere else.
