Thanksgiving: a beautiful holiday filled with football, family and food! As the holiday quickly approaches, you may be beginning to imagine your favorite foods that will grace your dinner plate on Thursday. Thanksgiving comes once a year; therefore, it is vital to be prepared for the dinner. My high school history teacher offered a guide to how to enjoy Thanksgiving dinner to its fullest potential.
First of all, you must remember that gravy is not a food. Gravy is a beverage. Therefore, you get your first plate of food and it should be on the verge of overflowing with gravy.
You eat that first plate and then return for seconds. At this point you may have to unbutton your pants so your stomach feels comfortable. Don't be ashamed. Thanksgiving comes once a year!
As you keep eating, your body is going to start sending signals to your brain that you are full. Ignore these signals and keep eating. Tune out all conversations and just focus on your food. You may at this time need to focus on an inanimate object to say focused, like a salt shaker. Stare at it and keep eating.
Now you've hit the point where you're completely full. Except you're not, don't lie to yourself! This is when you should go get dessert, pumpkin pie to be specific. Although you cannot see the pie itself, because it should be completely covered in whipped cream.
After you've finished your pumpkin pie, it's time to take a nap.
Happy Thanksgiving!
