10 Ways To Be H~a~p~p~y

Lately, I've seen a lot of people who are just not happy. With their lives, their selves, and with others. It's kinda sad if you ask me. I'm a generally very happy person, so, I find it hard to believe that most people nowadays are "glass half-empty" types of people. I have decided to bestow to you all, my readers, the 10 steps to be a happier person.

Results may vary.

1. Don't rush.

People tend to think that maybe sleeping in those extra five minutes in the morning make them less irritable. False. If you get up a little earlier, start your day with a nice cup of coffee and an extra 10 or 15 minutes to get where you need to go, you're day will run so much smoother. Every morning before work, I get up an hour before I have to leave, which is an hour before I start and get myself coffee and have a nice drive into work and my day starts wonderfully stress free. Its all about that time management.

2. Meditate.

I swear on my life that this actually works. Every night I put on calm music and meditate. I clear out all my thoughts and focus on breathing and getting into a zen state-of-mind. It really can help after a stressful day.

3. Go into a job that you love.

I love working with children. Therefore, I work at a daycare. It is the most rewarding job I've ever had. If you're working a 9-to-5 in a musty office and you hate your life, then that's on you. But you'll be a lot happier if you don't look at work as "work".

4. Drink water.

This tale is as old as time. Water = Hydration. Hydration = Healthy Body. Healthy Body = Happy Human. Get in those eight cups a day, you'll be surprised how well your body will respond.

5. Surround yourself with goodhearted people.

If you're around grumpy people all the time, you are not doing yourself any favors. Being around other happy people generally makes you happy too. So, what are you waiting for?

6. Do activities that make you smile.

There are a billion and one hobbies in the world, I am positive that you can find something that you like to do. If my grandma can rock it at her Zumba class, you can find something to whet your appetite.

7. Don't sweat the little things.

Yeah, sure, that guy cut you off and your co-worker said something that grinds your gears. So what? Are you going to let those people ruin your day? You shouldn't. The key to happiness is to let those things go and be zen with the world. DJ Khaled approved.

8. Stop worrying about what others think of you.

Nobody cares how many likes your Instagram pic got. Nobody cares how many retweets your tweet got. Nobody cares that you and Jim Bob broke up. Stop worrying about what others think. If you focus on yourself and what you think about yourself, then that's all that matters.

9. Love yourself.

I know, it's easier said than done. But imagine the time you'll save out of a day if you just accept yourself for who you are and not worry about what you think are "flaws". All of you is beautiful. Those stretch marks that you hate, the cellulite that is mostly hereditary, and any other thing you like to point out to yourself is what makes you a human being. So stop the self-hate and bring on the love. Self-love that is.

10. Most importantly, put your own happiness first.

I know that it's hard to do that sometimes. Some people are just natural people-pleasers. But it is 100 percent okay to put yourself first. You know yourself better than anyone. Let yourself be happy and do not let anyone ever take that away.

Now that Halloween is over, it's time to focus on the Holiday Season. Don't get me wrong, I think Thanksgiving is great and can't wait for it, but nothing gives me greater joy than watching Freeform's 25 Days of Christmas, lighting peppermint scented candles, decking the halls, and baking gingerbread cookies. So while we approach the greatest time of the year, let's watch the 15 best Christmas movies of all time.

6 Signs You Are An English Major

There are various stereotypes about college students, most of which revolve around the concept of your major. Unfortunately, we often let stereotypes precede our own judgments, and we take what information is immediately available to us rather than forming our own opinions after considerable reflection. If I got a dollar for every time my friends have made a joke about my major I could pay my tuition. One stereotype on campus is the sensitive, overly critical and rigid English major. Here are six telltale signs you are one of them.

27 Things 'The Office' Has Taught Us

"The Office" is a mockumentary based on everyday office life featuring love triangles, silly pranks and everything in between. It can get pretty crazy for just an average day at the office.

When you were little, your parents probably told you television makes your brain rot so you wouldn't watch it for twelve straight hours. However, I feel we can learn some pretty valuable stuff from television shows. "The Office," while a comedy, has some pretty teachable moments thrown in there. You may not know how to react in a situation where a co-worker does something crazy (like put your office supplies in jello) but thanks to "The Office," now you'll have an idea how to behave ifsomething like that should happen.

Here are just a few of the things that religious Office watchers can expect to learn.

High School And College Sucked All Of The Fun Out Of Reading

Books were always about understanding for me, about learning the way someone else sees, about connection.

High School And College Sucked All Of The Fun Out Of Reading

I keep making this joke whenever the idea of books is brought up: "God, I wish I knew how to read." It runs parallel to another stupid phrase, as I watch my friends struggle through their calculus classes late at night in our floor lounge: "I hope this is the year that I learn to count." They're both truly idiotic expressions, but, when I consider the former, I sometimes wonder if there's some truth to it.
