New years resolutions. Some people roll their eyes at the sound, some people get giddy with excitement, and some people bluntly do not care about them at all.

But a hot trend with New Years resolutions is that people make them, stick to them for about 2 weeks and slowly fall into that rut of going back to their old ways. Don't lie to yourself, you have done this. And believe me when I say, trust me I've done it too. And then you get all down in dumps, because you start thinking about how you didn't keep it, and how this is pretty much the worst start to the year, and blah blah blah.

But alas don't worry, I've come up with 5 golden tips to try and keep your New Years Resolution... all year. And make 2017 a stellar year.

1. Be realistic.

Be honest with yourself. Let's use the example of wanting to get fit. If you want to get a hot bod in 2017, you aren't going to be looking like Shakira in two weeks, no matter how much cardio blasts you do or how many protein shakes you drink, it's just not going to happen. Plus trying get fit rapidly isn't healthy for your body. It's a lengthy process that takes time to see progress. You have to make goals that are realistic to your already formed mannerisms and habits. If you hate the gym, don't say you're going to go to the gym every day, because... 1) you hate it and 2) you're going to make every day miserable because you're going to be thinking about going to the gym. Try other ways to be active. Try going to yoga, or doing crossfit, or workout videos in your house. Set a goal that's realistic to you!

2. Organize your priorities.

Making multiple goals is a great thing to do, it makes you motivated in multiple aspects of your life. But when dealing with multiple goals, you have to be able to organize which one is your main priority. If you have one specific resolution that you are just dying to complete, one that trumps all, don't be down on yourself if your other goals seem to slip away. If you focus on that one goal, at least your accomplishing something right? So that way when people ask you, "Hey how's your New Year's resolution going?" you can say. "Mighty fine thank you very much." Cue sassy hair flip and walk away.

3. Write Your Resolutions Down.

For goodness sakes, do yourself a favor and write down your new years resolutions goals so you don't forget them. (Talking from personal experience here). Go to your nearest store, buy yourself a sheet of fancy paper, write them down and stick them somewhere you see them every day. This way you stare at it everyday and it's a constant reminder that this is what you want. And I'm telling you, it works. It's super motivating! Just give it a try!

4. Get Friends To Encourage You.

Striving for your goals solo can be kind of tough. But I've found if you express your concerns about reaching your goals to a friend, they will be super supportive. If you have a great support system behind you, I promise you that it will make achieving your goals so much easier. Plus your friend might have the same goal as you, then you two can really support each other. Send each other inspirational quotes or pictures. One year my friend and I did this and it was so much fun. It helped us stay motivated to reach our goal!

5. Keep Yourself Inspired.

As 2017 progresses, it's easy to lose track as to why you really wanted to achieve your goal. You get distracted and your motivation seems to slip away because you have other things on your mind. The last tip is the most important tip. Keep yourself inspired. Inspiration is everywhere. One must first be inspired to then be motivation. Just keep that in mind. If you lose inspiration, you lose motivation. So stay inspired people!

So there you have it, 5 realistic tips to make sure that you achieve your New Year's resolutions. You can do it!

"Friends" maybe didn’t have everything right or realistic all the time, but they did have enough episodes to create countless reaction GIFs and enough awesomeness to create, well, the legacy they did. Something else that is timeless, a little rough, but memorable? Living away from the comforts of home. Whether you have an apartment, a dorm, your first house, or some sort of residence that is not the house you grew up in, I’m sure you can relate to most of these!

There is nothing quite like family.

Family is kinda like that one ex that you always find yourself running back to (except without all the regret and the angsty breakup texts that come along with it).

No matter how long your class is, there's always time for the mind to wander. Much like taking a shower or trying to fall asleep, sitting in a classroom can be a time when you get some of your best ideas. But, more than likely, you're probably just trying to mentally cope with listening to a boring lecturer drone on and on. Perhaps some of the following Aristotle-esque thoughts have popped into your head during class.

Bob's Burgers

Bob's Burgers is arguably one of the best and most well-written shows on tv today. That, and it's just plain hilarious. From Louise's crazy antics to Tina's deadpan self-confidence, whether they are planning ways to take over school or craft better burgers, the Belchers know how to have fun. They may not be anywhere close to organized or put together, but they do offer up some wise words once and awhile.

We're in college, none of us actually have anything together. In fact, not having anything together is one of our biggest stressors. However, there's a few little things that we do ever so often that actually make us feel like we have our lives together.

1. Making yourself dinner

And no this does not include ramen or Annie's Mac & Cheese. Making a decent meal for yourself is one of the most adult things you can do living on campus. And the food is much better than it would be at the dining hall.
