As everyone probably knows by now, Disney Channel has scheduled an original movie marathon. Most of us grew up wishing we could live on a spaceship with Zenon, or create a hologram person like in "Pixel Perfect." Here's the ultimate guide to making sure you get the most out of this rare and special occasion.
Familiarize yourself with the schedule
Timing is important here. The marathon lasts for four days, and some of the movies start as early as 6 a.m. and run as late as 4:30 a.m. Unless you want to turn into a brainwashed zombie whose clothes have fused to the couch, you're not going to be able to watch every single movie on this list. It's important for you to decide which ones you want to watch live, and which ones you'll DVR for a rainy day.
Clear your DVR
Like I said before, you're not going to be able to watch all the movies in one day, but you can save them all to watch later. Well, maybe not all of them, but most of them. Make sure you go through your DVR and delete the old episodes of "The Bachelor" from Juan Pablo's season and that random lifetime movie that you just had to save. Then go through the schedule, and closer to the marathon, scroll through and record all the movies you want. Then you'll have your own instant Disney movie marathon whenever you want.
Stock up on snacks
The marathon runs over an entire weekend, meaning you'll be a shut in and won't want to have to run to the store for more chips right before "Cadet Kelly" starts. Make sure you have the essentials and lots of backups. Get some salty, some sweet, and lots of chocolate, but don't forget that you might want to have a real meal every few movies.
Plan ahead
Disney Channel is more likely to play their newer original movies on TV than the old ones, so you may want to focus on the oldies but goodies, like "Full-Court Miracle," "Eddie's Million Dollar Cook-Off," "Halloweentown," and "Zenon." It might be a while before you see these coming up in the schedule, so it's better to be safe than sorry! Call your best friends from elementary school and take a trip down memory lane.
